P1138 code

'98 Disco 1, 90,000

Check engine light came on so I just checked the code. It read:

P1138
Manufacturer Control Fuel Air Metering

Can anyone give some help on this code.
I thought maybe O2 sensor, but the Fuel Air Metering confused me a little.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Air leak between MAF and plenum? Bad MAF? Bad oxygen sensors? Hard to tell without real time inputs from those sensors.

I'm betting you saw other codes, like 0132,0152,0138,0158,0171,0174,1158 or 1171?

It means the o2 sensors are reading too rich.

I think I posted the O2 test proceedure in the TSB fourm.

By the way, it doesn't seem to have affected the performance at all. If it is a O2 sensor, or the other what is the long term effect of not fixing?
