Not too spectacular a feat though. I had a GF who drove her Honda Civic 35,000 miles on the original dino oil. Of course that was right before it threw a rod right through the block. She didn't know oil had to be changed.

Don't they know that it isnt necessary to change the oil in a rover?? Every 500 miles a quart of dirty oil leaks out, so after 4000 miles you have more or less 'new' oil in it!

I think we have two members on here with two of those trucks. One is Jeff from Texas...he wheels the crap out of that thing!

If you go over to the MyRover board and check the 4x4 Pics section, look for any thread started by Mel (texasrocverchic) and you'll see tons more pics of this truck up in crazy angles.

THere was a KN site...had a few videos...I link to a few videos too in a thread in the Discovery forum here.

I believe the actual trip took place in 2003, and was to increase global awareness/raise funds for Parkinson's Disease research for the Parkinson's Institute at Sunnyvale, CA.

VW owners call it self-changing oil. You're also doing to road crews a service by pre-oiling the roads :D
