I've got a few suggestions that I think would improve this forum, and didn't really know where to put it. I have been participating in online communities for over 10 years. Discoweb is my newest addition because of my recent discovery purchase. It is a great site, and the best land rover one...

I've had the tick since i've owned mine, and was just under the impression it was vavle train wear. I've had so many people ask me about it and makes me feel like I drive a POS. It ticks at idle when hot, and goes away when reving. I can't wait to try the MMO and see if it helps.

Why were you striping the paint off if you are going to have it sand blasted?

I will never own another car with an LT1 in it. My trans am I had was the hardest thing I have ever worked on. But that being said I think that makes it perfect in a rover, lol. Match made in heaven

Are you just wanting to do this because of heat or for looks?

I managed to loose the nut that someone gave me that fit the threaded rod that actuates the CDL. I'm no where near a dealer, and wondering if anyone knows the correct thread and size that will fit it so I can try to find one at the local parts stores. Thanks! Keith

Sorry for the possible misunderstanding. As long as it's snug it is fine, you just don't want it loose. Both the rovers I have serviced it was actually hard to press it on the filter and you could hold either one and shake them and they would not seperate. But they may not all be that tight.

When you put the new O ring on the bottom of the filter, the white suction nozzle should be tight and stay on by itself. If its loose something is not right. The bolt holds it on, but it should have a tight enough fit with the new o ring to hold it on there, if its loose then your transmission...
