Hi,
Cats have only been 'required' on cars for the last 4-5 years. There are loads that have them but no NZ new DIs had them. DIIs did but not a requirement at the beginning.
I just call the M1 thing as the repairers and engineers see it too.
Hmm I tend to aggree a little,
But when oil engineers 'call it as they see it' I listen in. Oh, all the LR fixers 'ere including the dealers reckon our M1 is 'too thin' when it is hot for the old V8 lump. Runs past seals and they loose too much oil pressure. And you know they like a presure. :ack:
Well,
There are worldwide differences between same types of oils and I know most informed in NZ wouldn't touch M1 in an 'old' style Rover engine. Too thin!!
The M1 is specific to Oz and NZ I am led to believe. That is why I ONLY use oil that is manufactured and packed overseas (Total and Agip)...
I'm with this.;)
ALL the LR dealers here in NZ (where conditions are tough) and the independants use 'old' style oils as these V8s are 'old' style engines.
The new Mobil 1 style oils are a death sentence for these engines. I have used Total Rubia in my 300Tdi and Total Quartz 5000 in my DII...
Hi,
I use Pirelli Scorpion ATRs on mine and they have been good in the snow lately. They don't mind the weight of these trucks unlike some of the other brands. Plenty of people I know have come to grief with cheaper tyres.
Ya pays for what ya gets
Hi from New Zealand!!
I'm looking fer clues... Me '00 V8 DII is running a bit rough at idle. It has just had new plugs and leads. It was running on 7 when I got it 3 weeks ago. The new plugs saw to that. It has all the hallmarks of a bad MAF but I tried unplugging it today while it was idling...
Howdy all!:)
I have 1 in my '00 D2 and it seems perfectly acurate. I use l/100km for economy etc but it is bang on with all the decimal in the right places! :)
Hi all,
Yep CDL is good. But for most everyday situations the traction control will do a dandy job. :D
ALL DIIs can have diff lock, it's just that some need extra bits added to the transfer case first (2002 late - 2003 models) usually. ;)
As for buying a Subaru before a DII, hmmmm like they...
Aloha all!
I have a set of aux lamps on my nudge bar that dont go. They use the factory wiring kit with the relay etc by the under bonnet fuse panel. Problem is, there seems to be no earth to either front light. Do we know where the earth for them is? Has anyone had the relay unit fail? Mine...
Hiya all! :bigok:
I have just got my 2000 DII V8 thru compliance and all is well but the fron doors will not work with the central locking. The driver's door key will lock the rear 3 doors (along with the driver's door) but not the front left door. The switch on the dash only operates the 3...
Well, i'm importing a DII V8. It arrives late April. Might make my TDi available:applause: Not sure will look at it then but it is possible if you are thinking. Oh, and V8 DIs aren't worthless at all. With NO TDis being imported V8s are worth more now!
I'll tell ya why the Jap Discos are around - cos they are in dman near PERFECT condition!!! Oh, and in NZ they are very popular but now they are a pfohibited import as they don't meet our moronic Euro4 emmision standard for all deisels.
