Isn't a compression test only for a cylinder leak? Can't I have a coolant leak in a head gasket without a blown head gasket?

What's the best way to find the cause of some drive line vibration on an 03 DII? I don't have the center diff lock. The vibe seems to only happen or is most noticable around half throttle and around 25-40 and 70mph. I just did a head job and replaced my front u-joint. The vib is still there...
