That's what I have done, remove binnacle, cluster, & then bulb(s). Voila, passing Va inspection!

Swap airbag computers. That's what I did

It has to be a two sensor system. 94,5,6 should all work. It's under the console.

Was the truck parked with the ignition on?

I hate to kick up an old thread here, but if you remove the SRS bulb from the cluster, you should also strongly consider either permanently disabling the actual airbag inflators (disconnecting and secure connector) OR disconnecting the SRS module under the center console. Because without the red light you may become acclimated to the fact you no longer have functioning airbags and should one day it decide that it wanted to work again (like the D1 ABS modules do) ...and you were in a collision strong enough to trigger deployment... ouch.

Why is it "ouch"?
Removing the bulb only means I'm tired of looking at that damn light.
My D1 is 20 years old. I'd consider myself lucky is the airbags actually worked, whether my SRS light is on or not.
