Well that's the thing, right? They made what I'm starting to warm up to as a pretty cool car. They just shouldn't have called it a Defender. They should simply have MaDe A fUCkiNg DEFENDER.Watch this video and tell me if you can see the new Defender surving in the same conditions.
So just for fun, I did some quick google searches to compare this to the LR3. While the new Defender can raise itself higher than the LR3 can by 2". The wheelbase is longer on the Defender which then makes the breakover angle on the Defender(110) worse than the LR3. Thats a big deal for IFS/IRS trucks.
Approach angle is almost identical, as is the departure angle.
So with both having factory rear lockers available. Tell me how this is new Defender is any different than an LR3/4? The 90 version has slightly better numbers, but still not better than the LR3. At least thats the story the numbers tell. Oh and the 110 is actually a 119" wheelbase now.
I know these numbers dont mean much to most people, but its interesting to compare. Especially since LR claims this is the most capable LR yet! If they had offered a front locker as well, then I might actually give it a chance

I just googled and found some car and driver specs. Didnt do the Lr4 which looking now has different specs then the LR3. In on my phone now, but Ill double check when I get homeNot sure where you got your data.

Im seeing for the LR3 in Offroad mode:
Approach: 37.2
Break over: 27.9
Departure: 29.6
Ground clearance: 9.5
Wading: 27.6
curb weiaght: 5796
And the important one. Wheelbase for the LR3 is 113.6 Its 119 for the Defender. So even though the Defender is taller, its also longer so the break over ends up being the about the same. The lR4 seems to be significantly less. The 90 has the best numbers. But back to my original comment of how is this new Defender so much better than an LR3? I just dont see it. Must be in the Terrain response ?

Isn’t that every car these days? They all pretty much look the same, similar features, reliability, performance, etc. but the selling point is what outdated in two years infotainment system they can put in itIt will sell to the group of folks who like Techno Wizardry in their vehicles.
Yea. we went thru all the info they put out today. We saw a really cool looking set of white steelies. It was just a blip on one of the videos. but they looked great. 49.9 stripped down with steelies and the inginium 4 cyl gas engine. But you won't be able to order a 90 for a few months after the 110's go on sale in March.Looks like optional steelies at least
Pics and video don't give you a real feel for the vehicle.
air suspension is standard on the 110. optional on the 90.And coils.
