Yeah, I feel the same on the DII. Just never really wanted to own one. There are some pluses over the D1 yet the D1 just seems to suit me better. Especially as my ‘96 SD is totally stock.

On one hand we loved our DII. It had some quirks, the front passenger seats were a little cramped was probably our biggest complaint, besides reliability. We lived in a smaller community in southern Indiana so it was a unique SUV and that was kind of cool. I did a lot of business with a local tire shop so I took it there for some new treads. When I went to pick it up Jason (salesman) was like WTF. Said when it was on the rack the whole shop was over checking it out. His comment was "that thing is built like a fucking tank". I'd still have it if it weren't for all the trips to LR of Louisville followed by it overheating one time and dropping a cylinder sleeve.

I'll give you this, your a hateful little mother fucker. Gotta wonder where that comes from. Fat boy as a kid? Stupid/ugly/poor or did you hit for the cycle and check all the above. Anyway, just go right ahead with the name calling and shit. I guess it's cheaper than a fucking psychiatrist.

I have to ask, do you have kids? Did you ever find anyone willing to procreate with you. Because if so they must really be proud of dad, raging on the internet calling some guy he's never meant names.
See, thats kind of your problem. Your always trying to figure out whats up with someone who doesn't like you. How in the world could anybody not like you?

Oh no, in real life I understand exactly why people don't like me. At work, I expect certain things out of them so usually they really like me (because I treat people who get the job done really well. Those who don't not so much) or hate my guts. Out of work I really don't like interacting with people I don't know, so they mostly find me cold and distant and rude. And people like you, on the "net and in real-life I've learned to let it slide. Kids will mellow you. When I was a young man, someone like you, I'd just beat their ass or cut things off of them they'd rather me not cut off. I'd assume with a mouth like yours you"ve never interacted with someone like myself or people I knew.

Your starting to sound like this guy. Just saying.

Yeah, you say a lot of things. Just don't seem to be able to let things go/shut the fuck up. Pushing your buttons has been somewhat amusing, but now it's getting old. But just so you know, you've been the subject to a chuckle or two between myself and a buddy at work. When I made that Colorado post I told him "watch, shortly he'll reply back with something like LOSER" and boom. However, you let me down with that last post. I had told Josh Friday I'd get you to the point you'd be like "let's meet". Thought that post would do it. And I still think I could, but apparently it's going to take more effort than I'm willing to put forth.

Raging and name calling on the internet... rock on champ.

Spring time and love is in the air..... I just can't get fired up about anything LR has to offer right now. Top that off with a really bad local dealer network...... I'm hoping the new Ford Bronco might be the ticket.

I hear ya. But a stripped down Defender at just over 40 large might be the ticket. My boss said go ahead and order what you want. He said if I don't buy it in the end he don't care. He'll sell it. We can't keep them on the lot so far. We struggle to just keep one here for people to drive. Lots of people willing to pay over list just to have it.

I talked to LR co springs 3 times. Still say that if you order now you wont get until 2022 and that they do not know when you can order base model.

Last call I ended with I am no longer interested. Even if they were as low as 40k which they are not.

They lost my interest completely. Not going to happen. Besides I would be breaking my rule to never buy the first model year. Not to mention the review of the LR4 vs new Defender would make me lean to the LR4.

So are you talking a 90 that's not a 1st edition? If that's the case I suppose maybe. But my people are telling me I can order before the end of the year, and take delivery early 2021. And like I mentioned earlier if your looking for a 110, he's just wrong.
I understand my situation is different. I get my genuine rover parts about 15 feet from my desk. When my trucks need to be worked on I just drive past my parking space and drive right into the shop. If that wasn't the case, I would be buying a Silverado

The LR4 is going to have the 5.0 in it. That in itself is a deal breaker for me.

First off it's just a noisy engine. Right from the start I've had to decide how noisy is normal. If it's noisier than I consider normal and I go in and put timing chains and tensioner sin it for like 20 hours and whatever the parts are. Then it's normal noisy, but to the guy that just dropped all that money doesn't think it's quiet enough.
The fuel system has its issues from injectors and high pressure pumps. And of course pm's fuel pump driver. On top of all that it makes noise. You pump up that much pressure and start opening injectors it makes a little bit of a hollow knocking sound. Guys who know these things will diagnose high psi pumps just because of how quiet it is. It's a dead give away.
Then yes the reliability. But that in my opinion boils down to two high fail rate items in the cooling system. The water pump( which kinda got fixed) and the coolant outlet at the front of the block (behind the throttle). Once it overheats it's a boat anchor.

Then you have the supercharger knock from a broken isolator spring. You get the whole nose cone at about $800.
But all this has made for a pretty profitable transaction if you have enough cash to buy a Range Rover that's out of warranty but has the supercharger knock and the chain clatter, and can fix it yourself. Cause it's worth nothing making all that noise.

But the number of orders disappointed analysts. Robin Zhu, a Hong Kong-based analyst for Bernstein, said: “22,000 orders is somewhat underwhelming in the context of the heritage of the Defender nameplate and management's comments around strong demand.”

Despite being configured online 1.6m times by enthusiasts, only 11,000 customer orders have been placed for the car so far, with a further 11,000 test-drive cars ordered by dealers, according to JLR’s annual results.

The “heritage of the Defender nameplate” is a complete non-factor in the sale of these cars, at least in the States. Most people don’t even know what a Defender is. (But if you show them a pic of the original they’ll say it’s pretty cool looking.)

Have never understood the fascination with the van sides. Besides someone who wants to make a scene, who is really going to use this for construction stateside? At least there’s no floating lunchbox
