And JLR couldn't figure out how to bring the Defender back to market smh......

Not just LR, the whole automotive industry, even Ford not getting this to the market earlier. And I guess Fiat can kiss their cash cow goodbye to a certain extent.

Do not EVER buy the first production year of ANY make or model.
That has always been my mantra as well yet not sure any more with robotics, etc. used in manufacturing today. No doubt always niggling first run issues however likely pretty easily taken care of. Had first year SHO and going through clutches. Dealer just replaced them until the “fix” came on later years.

This article gives different numbers (150k) but they are talking just the 4/2 door version, not the Sport. That said I find it hard to believe they have 80k orders for the Sport model.

It is a very nice model in its own right. This caught my eye: The rear glass opens separately for the tailgate, and there's an available mount that secures two bikes in the cargo area with the rear seats folded. Now those features are very versatile. It may not be getting a lot of press yet looks like a great crossover.

If only there was a market for such a vehicle, LR could have tapped into it.

You have to wonder what Gerry/LR thinks of all this. I mean they just "borrowed" 700k from TATA and last I read were hoping for another 900k loan from the British gov and here you have anywhere from 6 to 9.2 billion or more in sales to be had for the right vehicle. Reading some of his interviews I'd guess his POV is that the Bronco is an unsophisticated vehicle that appeals to the great unwashed. All 200k willing to pony up about 40k.

Scroll down and there's some short vids. Can't say I'm impressed.

Doesn’t seem to have real great flex. I’ve heard the Sasquatch has even less travel (assuming up travel)

Those drivers are not me so I cannot judge the vehicle’s performance based on their lines; however, it didn’t look like any air was removed from the tires during the making of those vids or pics. Do people not air down anymore? Even with bead lock rims...

I’m pretty confident people have done all those trails in Discos with retained 2” lifts. I don’t see what type of flex you guys expect on a stock vehicle designed as a daily driver with off-road flavoring that is massively greater than Disco with a 2” lift.

IIRC that Sasquatch model should have disconnecting sway-bars, so articulation should be quite good. However, we don't know enough details. How experienced was the driver? Was the driver intentionally emulating a novice driver who might not air down or use the swaybar disconnects?

One of the first things I did to my Disco after my first off-road trail experience was get sway bar disconnects and a tire inflation pump. I don’t think those things are expert moves, but basic knowledge. Maybe that was the difference between off-roading in Colorado versus other parts of the country where fire roads are considered extreme.
