I like the Bronco. It's a far more honest Defender successor than what JLR peddles. However, I wouldn't purchase one and be seen as associating with the culture that surrounds it. You wont see OJ driving a Grenadier.

I mean to each their own. I think it's unfortunate that you let others' life choices influence your own. Do you also avoid purchasing pants because it would be seen as associating with the culture that surrounds other groups you're disgusted with that wear pants? There have been plenty of trashy humans that have owned every type of vehicle.

Bronco is very similar but distinctly different to the Wrangler. It has an advantage gained from being more of a clean sheet design than the Jeep can be. Ineos seems to have adopted an old school Defenderesque influence, bringing its opportunities and limitations with it.

The biggest opportunity is that Ineos has invested the money to engineer and update it to the world into which it is being born. The old school Defender never got that level of investment.....and died as a result.

The front end still looks strange to me.

I think they feel the same way, because they avoid using this camera angle in their PR shots.

I think its the lights in the grille that throw off the front. Something about them reminds me of the Nissan Juke. I could see a cool mesh (ala LR Saudi Grille) and move the lights to a bumper/brush guard mount.

The hood is also a little strange but not offensive.

That hood kills me smh

Same

They had trouble fitting the engine in the bay, I assume that’s why it’s so high, to create extra space? There were also issues meeting pedestrian safety rules.

The angular sides of the hood were taken from the Lightweight.

Yeah yeah yeah. The hood doesn’t look the greatest and neither do the fog lights in the grill. I also don’t like the headlights on my GX470, but I drive it everyday and it didn’t stop me from buying it.

Don’t get me wrong, I would still buy it over a Pretender. But Bronco is the best of the three IMO. Would like to see a Grenadier up close and check it out but not sure how that’s going to work in the US with no dealer network.

Kinda same situation when Range Rover came over in 1987. They had to start from scratch as Land Rover had left the US market. Basically no one had heard of Range Rover.

In one of their videos, they admit they had to remove the plastic "lid" that modern cars are victims off to limit the engine height due to Euro pedestrian regulations.

Why restrict access to the engine bay with that small hood opening? Imagine trying to work under the hood from the sides with those front wing tops in the way. The whole front end looks goofy. Probably tried to make it similar but not a carbon copy of the Defender.

Engine bay access on a Defender isn't too bad...if it holds a Tdi. V8 is a different story. If the Grenadier splits the difference with a BMW 6-cyl then who knows where the pendulum will come to rest. Since they started from scratch I'd like to think they took this factor into consideration with the design.
