Looking to replace my current front driveshaft. Suspension will be stock height soon so I don't need anything custom. Stock with grease-able U-joints would be fine.

What's the best resource for something like this?

Take your existing one to a driveline shop and have them rebuild it. I did that several times before eventually going with a Tom woods driveshaft.

What he said. Years ago when I lived in Rchmond Va they had a great shop, 1 day service. Depends on where you are located.

You can also rebuild your existing driveshaft with new U-joints. Do a search in this forum and you'll find extensive discussion.

I would rebuild but the previous owner didn't change out the driveshaft after the lift and it was grinding on the transmission crossmember. Rather get a new one that I know doesn't have any issues.

I had a Tom Woods on my last truck but that price tag isn't warranted on a truck with stock suspension height.

On another forum, people are saying ebay but I haven't seen any that have grease zerks.

Fair enough. It's worth checking with Will Tillery, he sometimes has Tom Woods or near-new takeoffs from trucks he gets in. I've gotten some good deals on rebuilt driveshafts from him in the past. Sometimes you get lucky.

Cool, thanks for the info on Amazon and Will.

I see that Lucky 8 has a pretty nice offering for $188. Has all the zerk fittings too with a 1 year warranty.

There used to be a shop in my community that specialized in drive trains. When you went there you always saw big dump trucks and school buses, etc., but they also worked on smaller vehicles. They built a new drive shaft for me with greasable U joints. I think that was over a decade ago. 2003 D2.
