Gunbroker has some good deals on ammo. Just bought 400 rounds of .45 for about $1.18 per round. You can get even lower per round if you go up to about a thousand rounds. I can't believe I'm saying $1.18 for range ammo is a good deal. WTF

I bought a dudes set-up. Dillon progressive reloader with about every common die set to be had. As I see it, I buy about everything. Primers, brass, lead, powder.....I'm that guy. I've got shit I'll never, ever, use. I don't even own a .40 but have bout 9,000 rounds. Ha.

If you can find decent priced/quality 5.56 you are lucky right now. I ended up buying a ton last month and paid almost double what I did a year ago.
I just picked up a Typhoon X12 Defense Semi Auto 12 Gauge.... very impressive gun.

I have plenty of .223/556 guns. Playing with 6mm ARC now. And you can find ammo for 6mm ARC because no one knows WTF they are. Think I am going to pull the trigger on that 12ga, tho.

You will not be disappointed

Will check out the 6mm ARC. I have enough 9mm/223 and 5.56 now to last me for years. In fact I accidentally ordered a bit more 9 thand I need. The Typhoon makers recommend HIGH Brass for the first 50 rounds or so. I bought it directly from Federal at a decent price.

Years ago I was talked into doing some duck hunting. These guys mostly hunted flooded farm fields and backwaters. That shit being pretty hard on equipment I was hesitant to buy a thousand dollar gun. I had been looking at a Benelli and the store owner, knowing how I felt, pointed me to a Stoger. They are made in Turkey and the story was their gun was such a knock off of the Benelli that they sued them and won. And then bought the company. I put that gun through a lot of abuse and never once did it fail to fire.

The later Remingtons have been shit. Which is one of the reasons they went tits up.
Father in law has shot Remington’s all his life and picked up a V3 he’s pretty pleased with. Of course it is an auto loader v pump

Yeah, I know that, seems like throwing money away though. This really does happen every 4 years. I understand this time may very well be different. Who knows.
Well I didn't spend all I have... just got a nice little stockpile and this time it is different.

At this point, you can buy today and sell tomorrow and make money if that's your game.

Tell me where my logic is flawed here.

You would need buy under market rate (not that common right now) so there is zero percent chance of making money the next day. In most places you won't even take ownership in one day, let alone through guns.com.

1 hour buy, 1 hour sell, 1 hour unpacking/packing, 1 hour driving.... lets say that is $200 of your spare time and I betcha a "good" gun would take more time.

If you are not in state or an FFL, then add $50. If you pay shipping one way add another $50. Straight out of the gate this resale needs to net you $300 just to break even.

You are going to need to buy at $900 and sell at $1200 the next day to break even. To make 30% margin, you are going to buy at $900 and sell at $1470.

Good luck with that, especially with larger firearms that are soon to be a minimum of $200 each per year just to own.

I think he's talking ammo.

Chris Rock had a bit saying the easiest path to gun control and crime reduction is to make bullets cost $5000 a piece :p

Why are they so expensive now? Is there a cigarette-like tax on them or something?

Its not just Chris Rock, its a lot of people in our present Government that think this way.

Gunbroker has a lot of bulk ammo available

Hell, I just looked and one seller has 1,000 rounds of PMC 223 brass priced at $775 plus an estimated $40 shipping.

Depends on what you are looking for. Pistol ammo seems to be the worst. I just gave up looking for any reasonably priced 9mm ammo. Guy at Rual King says they got in 10k rounds of 9mm and it was gone within an hour.
