Yesterday afternoon I saw a yellow Bronco sport on the highway. It does look like the Renegade or whatever other cheap jeep you choose.

This vid highlights a couple of things. First, why the base is fine for me. I don't want some upgrade option that forces shit onto me that I don't want to get shit I do want. Just go aftermarket.

Second, it shows how badly LR fucked up with the Defender being greedy.

A kia sorento can do hells gate with a moderately capable spotter.

The defender still looks like an element especially in stock form. Its a fucking joke.

Those don't look like legit 35's on the defender, but I did not look close.

Land Rover is lost. Not sure of I will even deal with the D1 and P38 much longer.

Still enjoy driving my RRC and D1 although each has its own idiosyncrasies. Had a new Audi A4 as a loaner and just couldn’t get used to having a iPad size screen in front of me. I am seriously going to look at a Bronco Sport and see how the interior is organized.

I assume it’s similar to that of its sibling the Ford Escape. Try finding a car without a massive screen in the dash these days

Yeah, it’s kind of sad.....you need to touch a screen to change a radio station or turn up the AC. Talk about fixing something that wasn’t fucking broken.

And it’s the part that ages the quickest. It bothers the hell out of me in the LR3. The nav is so outdated by today’s standards I just keep it on the black screen most of the time. Would rather just have a cubby and drop in an aftermarket double din with CarPlay but of course it’s not that simple

The nav package on my 2013 LR4 is for the Washington DC area. It will (usually) show me where I am on the map but you can't input addresses and get directions. Good thing I think nav in vehicles is completely pointless, other than rental cars. And who doesn't think it's easier to just speak into your phone and say "take me to xyz" rather than fiddle with the dog-shit vehicle nav interfaces? What really gets to me though is the cars that make you use the screen to adjust temperature, blower speeds, etc.

If it has Android auto, you can connect the map straight to the nav in the vehicle.

I would assume Apple has the same thing?

Also I like using the vehicle nav to get me out of a destination, rather than having to listen to the stupid phone tell me every little turn when I already generally know where I'm going.

Agreed and usually just start Google Maps after I get out of known area.

I was briefly behind a Bronco Sport on a highway and what struck me was the absurdly narrow tires. Like, it was an ok generic SUV, Hyundai or Kia looking, but with these comically narrow tires like what you would see on a Yaris. But on a mini-SUV. Ridiculous.

That said, I’m still liking that Sasquatch over a Pretender. Disclaimer: have driven neither. So my opinion is worth what you paid for it.

Edit, despite my disclaimer above: I’ll say this though from a fit and finish standpoint,,, from just driving the car, I’m certain the Pretender blows the Bronco away. Source: drive an F-Tyoe, recently rented a Mustang on vacation. No comparison.

Finally saw a 90 up close the other day. Gotta admit I kinda liked it. Looks much better than the 4-door to me. YMMV…

Still think the 4-door should have been the D5.

and still can’t understand why Jeep can build a compliant Wrangler and JLR couldn’t figure out how to build a NA compliant actual Defender.

I think a lot of people in this thread mentioned that that's all due to home cooking the crash test standards for Jeep.
