Haven't figured out the various packages yet but it looks more and more like the true defender replacement.... Priced tons better to.
I played around with that recently and was left disappointed. I started with the base model and quickly discovered that no small amount of "options" were only available in their packages. It was similar to cable TV. To get this one channel you want you have to order it with 8 others you don't need.

For example, the Black Diamond is a great setup - steelies, all terrains, rear locker yet you can only get it with the ‘marine vinyl’ seats, which I’ve not heard positive things about

I started with the base and wanted to upgrade the engine and transmission. It's been a while so I don't remember exactly but I think I could the engine but the tranny could only be upgraded by selecting a package. I think the tranny was listed as like $1400. The package you needed to get the tranny was over 5k. Just shit like that.

Proctor and Gamble, the maker of Tampax tampons, is also up significantly over the past year.

They did a bunch of media this week so there’s a lot of videos and reviews out there. Seems to be well thought out. The hard top configurations are pretty cool. Need to look at all the ratios but thinking the auto may be better than the 7 speed with the crawler gear. Seems extremely inconvenient to shift from the crawl gear to 1st which negates the useful of it I’d imagine. Still think the seat options look like shit and some of the interior materials seem a little flimsy. Know they’re rolling out so excited to see one soon. Have read some with reservations were notified delivery won’t be til 23’ though…

Thanks. I figured it may be some specific config. Too bad because the hard top seems like the better option. Soft top is a bit clunky
If these are really going to compete with Jeep I would expect there to be aftermarket options at some point. Might be better off getting a soft top and seeing what becomes available.

Tiny is an understatement.

One (Sport) parked next to me yesterday. It was 3/4 the length of my stock Colorado (double cab) and about 6-8" shorter. I think you'd be lucky to get a set of clubs in the "cargo" area.

I wouldn't worry about not being able to get a hard top in the first couple of years. The issue with custom ordered/optioned ones is that it's significantly easier for them to crank out what they believe will sell on the lots rather than what some guy wants. If the guy doesn't buy his they don't really care as much because someone will buy one in any configuration they put on the lot. If you're onesey-twosey-ing base models with sasquatch and a hard top rather than Outerbanks models you're not going to be making as much money. That said, they can kill a lot of enthusiasm and momentum by delaying people's orders. Tough call for them I'm sure.

It's always like this with brand new cars. When I got the "new" 2013 Escape it was next to impossible to get exactly what I wanted. The exact vehicle was found, I agreed to buy it and then the dealer it was at refused to transfer it to the dealer near me and hosed us. Luckily the salesman found one almost like it, but with the upgraded infotainment system which I didn't want and they gave to me at the lesser price. Point being, the salesmen want to sell and they don't really care who they sell it to or what they're selling. Try buying a Kia Telluride. Try ordering one. They aren't even cool and it's next to impossible. You can typically look at one at a dealership, but good luck finding one to test drive.

Yeah, I've seen some of those around here lately. It's something you'd buy your daughter, maybe wife.

there are two, I’m assuming high school girls, in my neighborhood with them.

I know I’m the odd one out, but I think the sport is really well done. Anxious to see the real bronco on the road.

It’s extremely well done for a vehicle that size for what it is. It isn’t bland and stands out. It also has as much capability as the non Wrangler Jeep offerings.
