Another video. He says there will be a leather interior option as well.
I'm stoked to buy this rig based on the recommendation of some spinal tap looking MF'er with these offroad "thingies" on the side of it and a roof rack.... no?....yes?.....no, yeah it is, factory installed.

Much better, thank you. First mod....black-out gay as fuck toot button.
I disagree. One of the worse transgressions is the stealth fart in an enclosed area. Bravo for them providing an advanced warning system. I guess it could also signal "we're getting the cocaine out". Which I would much prefer to the fart.

Somehow this nutsack is even more annoying than the other two guys who flirt their way through their pre-scripted commercial

I'm really really curious about price. I'm afraid its going to be way out of reach, despite what they've said about tailoring the truck towards people who are 'upset with where the defender and G wagen have moved on to.'

Im also wondering what resale is like. G wagons are ridiculous at 18 years old. I know the price is much higher, but if I could pick one up out of warranty for like 25k-30k I’d be all over it. I see the gas variant of that engine has mysterious coolant loss issues, and im tired of worrying so much about coolant leaks from owning rovers. Hopefully it holds up well.

In one of the videos they mentioned it would be about 45k British pounds which is about $62k right now

Land Rover made sure that the Defender was well tested and marketed it. Wonder what the testing regiment is? Or did I miss it?
They pushed off the release for some time to do more testing. Either doing their due diligence or found a problem.

That TV screen would probably be a deal killer for me. I just don’t want that much technology.
Yeah, it’s a great swing but wasnt the whole point supposed to be a bare bones old school truck? Sure, with lockers, etc, but when you’re into flat screen 65k+ territory you compete with all the usual suspects and ultimately dilute your brand and alienate the customer base you built this thing for to begin with. For that price, I can 1) Buy a Velar (or many other options) if I just want a street SUV, 2) build a pretty damn awesome off-roader from an old Disco, Jeep, or whatever, 3) import an old Defender. This should have been a 40 grand truck. Or at least had a bare bones 40 grand option. Or has inflation warped my expectations? At that price point, just seems like they’re competing in an over-saturated market. The skinny-fat long-haired poofer in the vid above referred to it several times as a “working” truck. But who pays 65k+ for a (personal) working truck? I love all the tech, and it’s what I look for in my SUVs/cars. But that’s not the point of this type of vehicle. Watch it (d)evolve to meet “the market”.

I'm thinking if you can get the Android car play to display Gaia GPS data from your phone on the center screen it would be a nice bit of technology.
Really like the switches - especially that there are extra switches for lights and accessories already wired in. It looks a lot like an aircraft panel where each switch does one thing only. I hope they offer it in some good solid colors like BRG and G4 Orange instead of different shades of metallic grey from white grey to black grey like so many other manufacturers do. Porsche, Jeep and Toyota are about the only manufacturers offering interesting exterior colors these days. I would like to know the measurement from the rear door to the back of the front seats. The new 110 is too short for a six footer to stretch out unlike the LR3, LR4 and D5 chassis.

I really like the Grenadier though - I hope they certify and offer the diesel version in the US market.

A screen was always going to happen. Countries (including the US) have mandatory requirements for rear cameras which therefore require screens. Also they specifically said in the video that they are expecting drivers to utilize apple car play or android auto. And that due to this they would not be offering built in navigation. This alone shows they are paying more attention to consumers than many manufacturers.

My primary concern is the use of a turbocharged BMW engine. Nothing about that motor is designed for truck duty (low alternator placement for example) and historically twin or single twin scroll turbo engines from BMW are not known for reliability or durability...

All that being said, it is about to be the only SFA fixed roof vehicle for sale in the US which is awesome, although at over $60k it may not matter.

Starting at 2:25 in the video above you get a very quick peek at the cargo area and rear seats. I see a noticeable "step" under the rear seats, and a chunky bracket sticking up between the split of the 60/40 seatbacks. It doesn't look to me like folding down the rear seats will create a flat cargo floor to sleep on, if that's their final design. Also, both rear wheel wells seem to protrude quite a bit into the cargo area.

Yes, yet, how obtrusive they are is my criteria. Telsa is probably the most yet it seems the direction is bigger is better. This one seems to be fairly small yet sufficient for navigation. Not having one in either of my Rovers is refreshing.

It's big enough to fit a "euro pallet"

Could not agree with you more, just stating that (unfortunately) it was to be expected.

Ineos put up these publicity shots. I like the Dark Grey. It hides some of the weird lines on the vehicle.

*according to their social media, it's gunmetal grey, with a black hood and roof.

It's really growing on me. I hope the 6-liter BMW engines (gas and diesel) are both offered here and I hope they're good as far as performance and reliability are concerned. I'd also like to be able to finally see one in person and get a feel for how the interior would work for my purposes, especially the back seats and cargo area. Maybe by the time my LR4 starts to die there will be used Grenadiers available.

Agreed - I think the BMW engine performance will be more than adequate but I don't know enough about their reliability. I'm in the same boat as far as stretching out my LR3 for several more years. Now my wife is talking about selling the LR3 to buy a 1991 VW Vanagon Westfalia, a prospect that does not excite me. Isn't being a Land Rover owner masochistic enough? And I thought my D1 was slow...
