Spotify or Pandora

I used to pay for ad free Pandora. My family likes Spotify and they talked me into switching a couple years ago.
I think I’m going back to Pandora. Seems to me like Pandora is better at figuring out what you like.
I’m also starting to think the sound quality is better with Pandora.

Spotify all day. It’s iPhone
Versus android. Spotify is the iPhone and pandora is to android. Folks will like what they like. Spotify is easier and better for my searching needs. That said, it’s cheap so if you think pandora is better, stick to it. I loved it when it came out, but there weren’t any other options at the time in 2009/10

I imagine the more you use Spotify, the more it will learn your tastes. I used to use pandora years ago and got sick of it playing every different version of Creep by Radiohead.

Spotify has me figured out pretty well, it's worth the $. I just hate that it keeps shoving podcasts down my throat.

Free Pandora vs free Spotify, I found that Pandora tended to flag individual tracks, where Spotify flags artist/genre. I got more repeats on Pandora, and enjoy a broader selection on Spotify, so bye-bye Pandora.

I find Pandora and Spotify to be interchangeable. They both can play way too many ads and their algorithms can be all over the place. I choose a heavy metal playlist and at some point I get Goo Goo Dolls..... WTF. That said I listen to free Spotify mostly.

I have as a backup to my Pixel 6 a rooted and custom ROM OnePlus 8. I have a Dolby Atmos mod installed and Klipsch T5 buds. I also pay for Amazon HD music. Now the HD tracks aren't much better than what you'll find on Pan or Spot, but the Ultra HD tracks they offer fucking rock. I'm not an audiophile but I know what I like and, to me, that takes it to another level.

I pay for the shit so I don't hear the adds. I pay 15 bucks a month for a family plan and 5 people have access. It's not a bad deal. Maybe I could clear the memory out of the thing and then be careful about what I like. Pandora figures you out faster because it has a thumbs down icon if I remember correct. Skipping over a song as opposed to saying you don't like it.

I had Spotify and stopped using it but I don't remember why. I use Pandora free version. I like the thumbs up radio station and also the fact you can pick deep tracks and similar artists. If I'm sitting around and want to hear a particular song or artist I'll search Youtube too.
I have nearly 4000 songs on my phone when I ripped my cd collection a while back so there's always that option.

I will say that I’ve discovered a few artists that I really like because of Spotify. Once an album finishes, it starts playing similar music to what you were listening to.

Yeah I get that. I'm sayng Pandora is better at figuring out what your going to like. It's probably been 3 years since I was talked into switching. I'm pretty familiar with both. If I listen to something like the Outlaws from way back, spotify will start throwing country western music at me.

Am I the last guy left who listens to FM, or AM in remote areas?

I also don’t have Instagram, faceplace, tweet, etc

The great thing is that if you pay for spotify or pandora, you can also use FM. You can also download as many songs as you want with spotify, and listen to them in remote areas.

In general I don’t listen to anything when driving either Rover on local trips. The Rangie has bluetooth so on long trips use Spotify from iPhone to stream. Audi has Sirius so that is the go to for music, news, etc. Saab is a convertible so with top down you don’t hear much of anything being played anyhow.
As DiscoPhoto mentioned with Spotify you can download as many songs as you want and listen in non connectivity areas.

That’s true about the downloading. I fat finger that shit all the time and download stuff on accident. It’s easy to download the stuff

We have a great FM station in Philly, so I listen to that 80% of the time, then 10% Spotify and 10% Amazon Music. I can play any of them through my Garage stereo setup.

We got my son a year of Spotify Premium an he said it is the best thing ever!
