I have a D1 remote that I purchased from Will T that apparently doesn't work with my current remote. I guess they are on different frequencies - which I was not aware of. If you don't have a remote - then no worries - they can program the car to use it. If you already have one with this number on it - then this one will match it:

3TXB

It's a little rough - but totally usable. Battery is good.

Do you have a 96-99 d1? It should work if you have a scanner to program it.

I thought all the US 96-99 D1 fobs used the same frequency. I know the UK fobs are on a different frequency.

Well - maybe I should get a second opinion - maybe it IS a UK fob - couldn't tell you - but most likely not. I'll check a few other sources and see if I get a different opinion. I can tell you that the same place that programmed my first fob tried for about 20minutes with multiple scanners and when they couldn't make it stick - he looked at the back of the fob and said - "oh - that's why, frequency is different...." It absolutely makes sense to me that they would all use the same frequency for sure - so I'm going to to do some more checking on this. Will post what I find out!

I did find this when I googled the number on the back:

DISCOVERY
1996-1998 Land Rover Discovery 2-Button Key Fob Remote (FCC: KHH 3TXB, KHH 17TN, P/N: Model Lucas 3TXB)
Dealership: $150.00

$39.94
MUST be Programmed and Cut by a Professional Automotive Locksmith
Match FCC ID and Part Number in Description to an Existing Remote or call a Dealership with your VIN to Ensure Compatibility with Your Vehicle

Must match existing remote? Mine don't match - I think that is the problem.... I'll bet I could buy two of these and make them both work!

If you send the FOBs with the 10AS unit to Logan Gibson he can program them. He can supply FOBs as well and you will probably be pretty happy with what he charges. I’ve had him do a few for me and all went very well. Turnaround time is pretty fast, too. If you can live without driving it for a short time, it’s a good option.

Basically you need someone with a Land Rover scanner.
I program them all the time with a T4. It takes 10 minutes total.
I can program it for you but I need the ecu, alarm ecu and all the fobs.
Or the truck here.

All I have sent him is the 10AS and FOBs. He emails you a video of them working, the settings, and the EKA. Once, I sent him one FOB and he supplied a second one for a very reasonable price. Aside from the one I purchased from him, I have purchased many on eBay. Apparently, it is the same FOB used on some Freelanders. I have now purchased 4 D1s and not one of them came with FOBs. For my first one I purchased a 10AS and one FOB from Will Tillery that worked great but it only came with one FOB. A friend then gave me some FOBs and sent them and the 10AS to Technozen. Later, I learned Logan Gibson does them and have since sent the rest to him. New cases with buttons are still available as well. I purchased 2 not long ago for about $10. My FOBs look and act like new.

Does anyone know the correct Rover part number for new replacement fobs for the D1? Mine came with two fobs that worked poorly. I bought new case and button kits for them, but the circuit traces on the PCBs were too far gone. I tried another used one from ebay but it seems that one also suffered from at least one worn out button. I'd like to buy a new one if I can. I have a Hawkeye Total so I can program them myself.

This would seem to be the correct one, but none of the vendors can confirm for me.

I believe the one in your link is 433mhz and is the UK spec. I think the US spec is 315mhz. Anyone confirm that?

If it is the 315, I believe this is the one you need.
