I took a trip to the other side of FL and found more sand trails for the LR4 to play in. It's really great at soaking up highway miles and going wherever you want to go. I think it's a long term keeper.
It'll probably need chains before 100K even being a 13. It doesn't rattle as much as some other 5.0s I've heard, but it's not as quiet as I'd like. It's not cheap to do all that myself, and a broken injector would mean a lot more work than I'd want to do. Still, even paying someone is way cheaper than a new 6 cyl Defender, which is probably the closest thing to a V8 LR4. When all the hybrid drive/forced induction bits fail those will be even worse. I looked at Wrangler 392s, but 80-85K for a piece of plastic with a V8 is tough to justify. A TRX is the same price but won't fit in my office garage, and my Super Duty handles truck duty just fine.
