I’ve been looking at scan tools lately too. I have an Autel that’s about 2 yrs old and needs to be updated.
I’ve been looking at Xtool scanners. The top of the line A80 I think it’s called has DOIP capability. I don’t know if Porsche is running that yet. It’s basically a ethernet connection to the Gateway via the diagnostic connector.
I see that does older Rovers. Not the same as what I was tacking about.
Does it do multiple systems? I know the problem with scan tools for the older stuff is all the different protocols and speeds of all the systems. You need a t4 and like 10 different connectors to interface with all systems.
I gave a Porsche tech a ride in my old disco and he claims they smell just like an old Porsche from the same era.
We decided over 10 beers or so that the smell was from the glue in the carpet and possibly the headliner.
I’ve never used the Lynx before.
But for a Disco 1 search for a used Hawkeye Total. The only issue with the Hawkeye diagnostic tools is Britpart no longer supports them with servicing or updates.
Your right they went out of business, which made me look at the Lynx unit because of the coverage and the many functions primarily the key programming.
