Truck won't pass inspection in VA because SRS light is on... Left lights on a few months ago and drained battery.

If I remove the fuse will that turn off light?

disconnect the positive and negative battery terminals. disconnect the srs under steering column. let sit for like 10 minutes. reconnect all; turn key to second position; let sit for 10 minutes. turn engine on and run for like 10 min. if this doesnt work then drive it off a cliff.

I had a 1994 disco before my 98. SRS light comes on whenever the battery has been disconnected or falls below a certain voltage. Can only be reset by the dealer. Good money making scheme for Land Rover.

mine went on after the 200k mark when the steering coupler splines stripped out and the ribbon tape was destroyed after spinning the wheel around like a boat captain.

And of all the dash bulbs to burn out mine chose the cruise control light. I thought it was broken for a long time too.

I had to go to dealer to get plug in and turned off. No problems Cost $150... The passed inspection in VA.

Had them check for gas tank recall.. Vehicle needed tank and they replaced tank with new fuel pump at no cost... That was the upside...

this intrests me

when you disconnect the two battery lines are you also connecting them to each other to discharge the SRS capacitors?

have you actually done this or just heard about it being done?

is there a procedure on this written that you can refrence?

Went to the dealer (Land Rover Dallas) and they told me the only way to get the SRS light off was to replace the airbags. I did know the bags are supposed to be replaced every what is it 10 years?

I removed the instrument bezel, cut out a neat square of black electrical tape and stuck it over the SRS light on my DII. I have to look really hard to see it.

I had mine on until recently. Was able to use a rovacom system to turn the light off. Dealer, independent or someone with the computer. Couldn't figure it out otherwise.
