Thats funny I go to D Web for the silly factor ;)
The guys in this thread are mostly right though. The high lift will get ripped off your rear bumper in no time if you ever go wheeling. If you like the look then cool keep it there if you want to. Ultimately it is useless for anything but...
Thats about as good of advise as anyone can give you. I just finished swapping the engine in my D2 and other than being a pain in the ass to get to the tranny bolts on the side its a pretty straightforward process.
If you are pulling the wiring harness out with the engine, make sure you...
I totally agree with you Muskyman. And I bet your friend now has a good understanding of what it takes to snap a stock shaft so they can appreciate what the HD shafts are really doing for them.
Sure you can go balls deep and go ahead and get the HD shafts without ever testing your stock...
I hear it a lot too. Personally I would tell you to get the arb and find yourself a cheapo full set of stock axle shafts then wheel with the shafts you have until you break em then you will know the limits of stock vs. aftermarket. It seems that the majority here like to throw tons of cash at...
You tape off areas like the frame mounts and just paint them so it doesn't affect the fit. Rhino lining is crap and gets all droopy and pools in corners and stuff but Line-X stays nice and even all around if your sprayer really knows what he's doing.
Like I said before it all depends on what...
I've had line-x on a few bumpers of our rock crawlers and as good as it looks in the beginning, you wont have much fun with it if you ever get near a rock. It will get ripped off over time and be a bitch to go back to a dealer to get it fixed.
So if you just like the look of the bumper and...
I built a sub box similar to the one in the tread above a couple years ago. Has worked pretty well for its purpose. I just mounted the amp underneath the passenger seat where the cd changer usually goes since i usually do my wheelin in the rocks rather than water. Anyways here are a couple...
I have used an impact with no problems in the past. with the t-case still in the truck you can just put the truck in park, set the emergency brake, and use a breaker bar to break the nut loose as well. And as for the fluid I just fill it up with 90w until it starts pouring out the fill hole...
You dont really HAVE to drill a new hole either. I have used the 4 main bolts on my carrier with a 264/75r16 bfg mud terrain for two years now gotten rear ended into the spare tire and had people standing on top of the spare tire without any problems concerning the mating surface between the...
Not a problem, I hope it all works out for you. Yeah the diff lock wires should have been there but since the '03 was never intended to have a center diff lock to begin with, i believe they just deleted that part of the harness for that year truck.
I cant remember if the wiring was there or not for the diff lock but I dont think there was. My truck no longer uses traction control or HDC anyways so I had no real need for any of the wiring except the original hi low sensor which i did use from my old output housing. The high low shifter...
I just replaced my front output housing for one with all of the CDL equipment in it and stuck it on my 03 tcase. Works perfectly and way cheaper than replacing the entire tcase
Ditto. I dont like other people working on my truck. Only reason I ever went to a shop was to use the rovcom for three amigos but i gave up on that battle long ago
