Ordered a new viscous clutch, then found out that the nut is not a normal viscous clutch size so I ordered a 32mm spanner on Amazon and received a 34mm. This damn thing has been a royal pain in the ass every step of the way.

I've got a buddy who's the sales manager at a JLR dealer, he says they've confirmed that the new defender will start at ~55k.

I've got ~276k on my DII that I bought at 105k. It loses about half a quart of oil and coolant every 3k miles and the same amount of transmission fluid every 5-6k (front prop exploded and caused a small crack in the tranny through which fluid weeps. Other than that, the darn thing runs great.

Really hoping this is just crush washers and I don't need to have the injectors rebuilt.

Yup, the plastic handle died. This is what I came up with, on the fly, with what I had on my work bench. The canvas webbing was leftover from building a new 'diaphragm' for the driver's seat.

Well, chased down some fuel leaks and everything looks good. She lights right off and purrs. And I can't bring myself to drive the darn thing. It turned into 10x the project I thought it'd be and I just got burned out on it. Just seeing it in the yard pisses me off. This sucks.

Glow plugs are live! Anyone know what the blanking plate next to the mirror control knob is for? I popped it off and found a nice 3/8" hole that was very easy to drill out to 1/2" for the momentary and in a great position. I know glow plugs are considered somewhat optional on the 200tdi...

Lift pump will be here Tuesday. Managed to get glow plug wiring almost done. I've still got to route the wiring for the momentary switch, but it's tested and working properly. Also found the plug for the cigarrette lighter and attached it, now that works properly.
