I was actually talking about the fork mount - with the quick release handle and cam in plastic. It has to be a little stronger to hold a tandem.
Leaning toward a hitch mount now too. But still the tandem mounts are around $350.
The only thing stopping me buying that is it has a plastic handle and cam. I don't like that at all, and neither do some of the reviewers of that on Amazon.
Hello Honda50r
Was looking at this:

I'm not with the bike right now so I'll measure up tonight. Just wondering why you think it might not work? Also I don't know what you mean by the 'tri'. Thanks!
Has anyone carried a tandem bike on their roof rack (mine is a D2)? I laid mine down on blankets last weekend, which was ok but I'm afraid of bending the wheels if I mess up getting it up there or tying it down. I've see special tandem fork mount carriers but the yakima and thule are both over...
I dunno about that! There's no challenge with the rover, in the snow we usually get, and so it's not that much fun. I'd take out the lexus for some serious skill enhancement. That's sort of why I was asking on this thread how people do this.
Here's a good deal of views, almost all of them say...
Ok thanks 57loboy, just what I needed.
I know people questioned me posting here on dweb, but here there are at least some people that have real off-road experiences, even in passenger cars. So cheers for that! I'm not getting anywhere on my lexus forum!
Thanks for answering. So you're in neutral then - that's my first data point! Is this on the Saab? What drive is that?
I do have the chains, and really like them too, but sometime I get too lazy if I think I can make it down ok. Was just wondering if people put it in N or in gear.
Good evening all.
This question is concerning a RWD passenger car - a 99 Lexus LS in this particular case.
The road I live on is a pita when it snows. It's hilly on both ends, and I live in the middle. The hills are so steep that I have to go slower than walking pace, literally...
Greetings,
- Replaced a dying battery with a Duralast gold top. Drove to work. +10hrs. Attempted to come home.
- Key in ignition - all looks fine on dash, interior lights, etc.
- Turn key to start - click from engine compartment, and 100% black, as if no battery in vehicle.
- Key out, back...
Fipronil is what I used - after some research I found that is what Terminix uses in their treatment. The ants take it back to the nest and it kills the colony that way. You can buy it in Walmart, KMart, etc as Combat (in 6" long syringes).
Though, in your situation, I'd probably just suck them...
