ok guys. thanks. i am going through the list also with a simialr problem. I blew out the MAF with cleaner, replacing plugs today. looking at VSS then fuel pump.

at first it just did it once in a while at speeds over 60mph. yesterday though it was doing it reallly bad at speeds between 30 and 60mph.

Does anyone have a picture or a diagram of how the front abs sensor is installed and located? i have been looking through the D1 workshop manual and it is not shown anywhere. do i just grab it pull it out and slide in a new one?

no not as yet. i am at work and the only pump i have is the bottle jack from the engine bay. if it is the bearing why would it not repeat the same shuttering with the abs fuse pulled as it does with the abs fuse in?

update. i pulled the ABS fuse from the fuse panel under the dash and the brake problem ceased. put it back in and its back. so that pretty much narrows it down to an abs issue but i am not getting the abs warning lamp on the IP so any body got any other diagnosis suggestions i might try to...
