Thanks for the replies, sounds like some tubing and maybe longer bolts to extend the originals is how I'll go. need to crawl under there and take a look.
What is the easiest method of extending the bump stops a couple of inches on a D2? I put on a 2 inch lift and it's not because of that, it's because the new tires will hit the fenders before the stops.
I installed a set of Terrafirma 2 inch lift spacers and kept my air springs. Lucky 8 told me that I don't need to replace my rear shocks as they are good for a 2 inch lift however one of the reasons I wanted to keep the air springs was for the additional 3 inches of lift available by pushing...
This may not be the same issue but when I did my head gaskets I put it back together with all new hoses and clamps and I fought little dribbles and leaks for a couple of weeks until I decided to go back to the original spring clamps. I had to buy a pair of those special cable operated pliers...
I have an '01 so my diff lock was not connected from the factory and when I installed a D1 shift lever this happened to me - the light came on and stayed on even though I had only used the lock a few times for test purposes when I first hooked it up. I engaged and disengaged it a few times and...
Yea let's agree to disagree on that subject and not talk about it anymore. I see you spent 250 bucks on an upgraded TBH plate, good on you I hope it works. Some people are going to tell you you're nuts putting money into your Disco, here's my story:
I bought my truck in 2005 for $18k, really...
No the crankcase is vented to outside usually through an oil/vapor separator. The engines are 5 to 7 liters. Thing is, aircraft fly at altitude through colder air and even through clouds with no throttle body heat. On Continentals the throttle body and fuel distributor are not even directly...
Okay Kennith if that?s the way you want it...
Total fuckin’ bullshit and you know it. You pulled that right out of your ass didn’t you?
Cheers yourself
Yea and to be clear I was never advocating that. In fact if you look back you'll find posts from me years ago saying the exact same thing as you. But I've had the Disco for 12 years and over 130,000 miles and I've fixed the TBH before and it didn't leak, the last time for over six years but when...
Actually your contention is nonsense but I happen to know where it comes from and that was mentioned earlier. Piston engined aircraft have always been susceptible to a malady known as carburetor ice (the ones with carburetors) and so they all have a knob on the panel called "Carburetor Heat"...
