I didn?t check. I did notice that after it had sit for a while, I tried to start it- it was slow to crank (as though it was ?tight? and there was steam coming from the exhaust.

I haven?t. Is there a way to inspect them?

All: ?95 Discovery engine & auto trans in my Defender 90. Started running ?weak?, had to keep flooring it to keep up with traffic. Got steadily worse until I had to floor it in 3rd to go down hill. Ended up at 30mph on the freeway under full throttle. Pulled over & clouds of steam everywhere...

Turns out it was the signal wire to the starter. Runs great now and goes both forwards and backwards!

All: Swapped the auto transmission in my '95 because the old one was bad. Now the starter won't engage. Truck in Park, foot on brake, turn key, dash lights up like a christmas tree, no start. Not even a click. Fuel pump buzzes, battery seems fine (was on a charger). Any ideas? Thanks, Paul.

Thanks, my next plan was to plug everything in & see if 1) the transfer case worked, then 2) the rig would start.

All: '95 V8 auto. Would only go in reverse, no drive in any forward gears. Did some research, which said transmission is likely shot. Bought a used one. Removed the transfer case & noticed that the Hi/Lo shifter linkage was broken off. Cannot get it to shift out of high range, despite tapping...
