Here's some more pictures. $4000 OBO. Really looking to sell it complete, If not i'm gonna take some parts off( Front bumper and snorkel are called for) like shocks, diffs, driveshaft, easy things and send it to the wrecking yard next weekend. Not entirely sure i want i want to pull the engine...
Looks like i'll probably try and sell a couple stuff and end up sending it to the Junkyard. I'll post here where it goes in case someone wants to 5 speed swap their v8.
1995 Land Rover Discovery Off roader
118k miles on odometer. Engine and transmission mileage unknown There's a vibration that starts at 40mph and doesn't go away that is probably a failing front CV axle,
Engine is out of a newer D1 with a Serpentine belt, but still runs a distributor.
I did...
Ya, i cut the old lines and jb welded them shut when i did the engine swap, so i should be able to just open them back up and use a little cooler with a fan. I like using motorcycle radiator fans since they typically come with a little shroud on them too. Perfect for oil coolers.
So far my repurposed oil pressure sensor adaptor has been working pretty good with no leaks. I may look into the atlantic british adapter as i want to add an oil temp gauge and oil cooler soon.
Good point on the rear shock mounts. I used a hammer and chisel and the rear shock cones came right off.
Has anyone tried the Terrafirma Big bore expedition shock? My truck has a stripped interior with a roll cage, and i don't typically have a lot of weight in the back unless i'm going camping...
This is bar far the easiest method, I've just had bad experiences with glow shift oil filter adapters leaking and a lot of my friends have had similar issues so I wanted to try a different way.
Interesting. Did it attach to the steering bar? The gwyn lewis bracket allows you to replace the steering stabilizer with the ram. The lines that come with it just T into the existing box lines so you don't have to tap the box. Much easier than the PSC ram i welded onto my 4runner. I just want...
Sick build! I'm jealous of your front shock towers. Have you ever considered going with a ram-assist for the front steering? like from gwyn lewis? I'm in the process of adding it to mine. Well waiting on parts currently.
Ya, unfortunately if it pulls the lower mount off like mine did, the shock body has to be replaced. I sent pictures to fox and it was the same price to rebuild as it was to buy a new one. Again, doubt this will happen to you. Especially since you have stock springs now, but just figured i'd...
I have 3" RTE springs on my D1 They are old school RTE, about 20 years old and super flexy. I got some Fox 2.0's from lucky 8 that were meant for a 3" lift and after 2 months the passenger front Fox shock pulled apart from the lower mount. When i went to warranty them with Lucky8 they just said...
Today i finally got around to installing my oil pressure gauge on my 95 D1. My D1 is a distributor car but i run a serp belt motor with an interim front cover that has a hole for a distributor. So i have a crank driven oil pump and a Distributor and my oil cooler lines are blocked off. I was...
