v6 timing chain: is this an engine out operation?

Yes they suck. I had one a while ago and had to pull the engine because the right side chain is on the rear of the engine. I called a ford guy I know and he confirmed they suck. He told me basically fuck that engine I just replace them when the chains let go. It's not a free spin engine so it...

    LR3 running rich (I'm puzzled)

This is really important. On these engines if you leave the dipstick up out of the tube and cause a lean fault you have to reset adaptions or the light will be back on in a mile or less. Not sure why.

    Old Timers Unite

Any sign of the rear ones? Those don't seem to split like the front ones, but they leak just the same.

If the cruise control didn't work after the bumper got hit it was probably just a bent bracket the cruise module sits on. $36. Since the bumper cover is soft it goes back to normal shape. The bracket not so much.

I think you'll like the car. When they first came out the rear suspension was so improved that there was no good reason to buy an Evoque

I haven't seen the new aluminum outlets yet. I heard about them. The aftermarket aluminum ones are supposed to be junk.

    LR4 Reliability

You're just not looking in the right places. The adds always say "it has a misfire" "it overheated" but never it needs an engine. You read between the lines. They try to make it seem like a good mechanic can get it going by rubbing his dick on it.

anyone else affected by the JLR parts delays?

I think there are so many people who don't give a shit running things at all levels. They can't ship a windshield without breaking it. They always change stuff to make it worse. The inmates are running the asylum.

    Lifter tick

I've seen a lot of people spend lots of money doing upper valve train work when the real problem is oil pressure. Make sure you know what kind of oil pressure you have before you start.

P1668 PASSIVE IMMBILISATION: ONLY with replacement plip/keyfob

T4 is hard to find these days for sure. But lots of people still have what we call the Handheld. It slides into a docking station on the T4 interface. Those never seem to quit and it might be able to help with the security issues. I have both a T4 and the handheld. Where are you located? Going...

    ‘96 D1 rocker arms

Take a pocket screw driver and put it in the oil hole at the pushrod end. Gently turn the insert in the aluminum arm. If it turns in the arm replace it. It looks like those arms are not correctly installed. They are labeled as right and left, but each bank gets 4 of each. Looks like someone put...

The preload on the countersfaft is what he's probably talking about. In my experience its usually the input seal and the o rings on the countershaft
