Is OME Still the Go-To 2" Lift Kit?

OME MD spring lift. Springs are 22 years old. Ran 215/85R16's early on and have been running 245/75R16's for a while. You will need to cut the rear for clearance.

    D1 New Water Pump

PITA intermittent squeal finally resolved. Only when warm and would squeal at shut down. Finally tracked it down to a failing water pump. New pump, new hoses, new hose clamps, new serpentine belt, and a new tensioner (just to make sure) later and the engine is quiet. Flowkooler pump is sexy...

    D1 NOS Coolant hoses

Still in the wrapper and still with LR tags. I'm sure they were stored in a warehouse properly and I'm sure I'm overthinking it but at the same time you have to wonder...

    D1 NOS Coolant hoses

Ordered genuine LR coolant hoses for my D1. Sounds great in principle but then you realize the manfacture date on the hoses is 15~20 years ago. Do you trust a 20 year old NOS genuine hose over a new aftermarket one? Especially the lower hose?

    Golden Rovers upgrades

The bullet point mount is good and is sturdy on the plate. My iPhone case has a magnet in it for MagSafe. It is rock solid on that thing. The phone magnet is OK by itself, but once you put a plastic case on it too weak.

    Golden Rovers upgrades

Been doing lots of fiddling things on the D1 the last few months. All interior lights now LED. New front rotors, tie rod ends, and tires. Head lights that would keep fogging up replaced with early D2 glass. Fluids all around changed out. Water pump going in on Monday. Paid a few bucks...

    Tires fitting 205 85 16 or 215 80 16

Ran 215/85R16 for a while. At speed it was a bit squirrely. They were better on my '64IIA.

    97 Disco 1 P1177 code

With the ignition turned to accessory, you should hear the fuel pump whining at the back. Because it sat for so long, also consider the fuel filter and any vacuum hoses in the engine bay. Rubber rot.

    Rear window switches

My 97 had a bad solder joint on the ECU. Once I had the board on my bench, it was easy to see and easy to fix. I will say having 3 hands would make removing and refitting the board much easier.

    Cat replacement

Count your blessings you don’t need to deal with California and our restrictions. Had a cat stolen earlier in the year. small fortune to replace. The other cat has some loose material in it, but is otherwise OK. Fingers crossed.

Intermittent Steering wheel shake ONLY at 45 mph

Get under the truck and yank on the panhard rod near the steering arm or have someone turn the wheel while you watch that same joint. If the bushing is crap or the nut is loose, you'll see/feel it. Your description seems like I experienced. Worst case you rule it out as the problem.

Intermittent Steering wheel shake ONLY at 45 mph

I had an irritating death wobble. Power steering leak ruined the lock nut on the panhard rod bolt. Bushing was actually OK but the nut had loosened. New bolt and lock nut. New lock nut was the oval style, not nylock. Problem solved. Oh, and I fixed the power steering leak too...

    Old Timers Unite

Reading through this old stuff and seeing lots of names. I was here in late 2000/early 2001 mostly posting Series stuff. I was running around the SoCal desert with Han, Ho, John, Bluegill, etc. Still have the 97 D1 as a daily ride. The IIA is long gone. Never posted much here as I never...

Tried to reach you during the week. Broke open the truck today and attacked the board with a soldering iron. Knock on wood, I think I'm good to go.
