    INEOS Grenadier

Sooner or later, the sway bars will come off the Grenadier. The way it takes the highway on-ramps without ever slightly leaning is excessive :) That said, my LWB Classic has both sway bars in place. It still articulates better.

1992 RRC SWB - deeper into the LR rabbit hole

You can probably wrap a sheet of paper around the downpipe and trace it on the cowl.

    INEOS Grenadier

That is classic John. On the mechanical side, of course, the Grenadier's suspension is no match for Range Rover/D110 suspension off pavement. I watched John's truck move over the same rocks I drove before, and the 110 never lifted a tire off the ground - which was not the case for the...

Not bad, actually. He also had the narrow rear door in that orange.

    INEOS Grenadier

Just came back from a three-day Death Valley trip, with the same group we went many times in the past. Only half a year ago, it was the most-diverse group, vehicle-wise: the only similar vehicles were an 89 and 95 Classics. Now - a 93 NAS 110, a Tundra, and five Grenadiers. Out of five Gren...

    New Land Cruiser

With all respect, an LR3 will never equal a D1 off road (all situations considered).

    New Land Cruiser

I don't think so, I know that it doesn't. 7K miles may be too short of a time history to extrapolate, however. As far as economic class... My WAG is approximately 100 Discoweb visits a week, not counting approving new users.

    New Land Cruiser

A 5K Discovery will eventually use ALL of your free time to keep on or off road. If you don't think so, you're delusional.

anyone modify the covers on dash and binnacle switches?

Oh the cleaning of a switch does wonders, right away. But they seem to stop working sooner and sooner after every intervention.

anyone modify the covers on dash and binnacle switches?

Good luck cleaning contacts on Land Rover switches. I gave up after multiple tries for RRC window switches and ordered new replacements.

Old timer thread got me wondering, what Rover got you onto Discoweb?

Tough call. The only thing going for that old 109 was the relatively straight body - I haven't even checked the frame then. Reportedly, this 109 was eventually sold to some of the owners of San Diego Sea World - but as far as I can remember, it never hit the road.

Old timer thread got me wondering, what Rover got you onto Discoweb?

No, I didn't. I went to test-drive that 109 - after a couple of blocks I decided I could live with no power. But then I rolled up to La Jolla Blvd. with 4 lanes of traffic, stepped on brakes... and nothing happened. The 109 just rolled through the intersection, fortunately, in a few seconds'...

Old timer thread got me wondering, what Rover got you onto Discoweb?

1962 SII 109 that was so bad and horrendously expensive that I eventually bought a 96 Disco.
