14CUX upper gear is nylon and won't work on GEMS or Bosch. Gems won't work on Bosch and vice versus. GEMS/Bosch have different "reference" marks for the cam sensor.
Anything 14CUX I'll use a double roller steel gear set.
Plug off OC ports...not needed.
Pull the Relief valve and shim the spring.
15w40 or 20w50.(10w30 is too thin)
Don't use the PH16 garbage filters...I've seen over a dozen of these motors trashed by those filters. Stick with your WIX or use the correct MAN.
Cut the "dome" off of the pick tube so...
I would be hard-pressed to think the gear just cracked from you trying to turn it by hand...don't care how big you are you ain't that strong.
Most likely your timing is off and you got something jammed against something else internally especially if you still have the heads/valve train...
Take everything you need off your 3.9 and bolt it to your 4.2. It's a super simple bolt-in swap.
Make sure you move your 3.9 fly wheel/flex plate assembly too. There is a chance that she shims behind it are different than the 4.2.
You don't want to dislodge the TC by not having enough shims or...
Drop an angle finder on your rear DS and add shims to the TA's until you get factory spec.
The whine should go away if you haven't torn into the pinion bearing too much yet.
Make sure you got the pins right on your "rewiring" of plug A.
Swap the upper sensor plugs with one another. You don't have to physically move the sensors just swap connections and see if the "0" volts follows the sensor.
Can you actually see what the sensors are reading(Testbook/Rovacom/ect) or are you just using a volt meter?
Sounds silly but check ALL fuses interior and exterior before getting crazy with the harness.
Anyone ever have any luck getting one of these kits to the states? You can't buy them off the Ebay site because Clinton(The owner) won't have anything to do with the overseas shipping process other than putting it in a box. I've been trying(DHL/FEDEX/etc) for months and can't get the shipping...
