I put in Hella's 130 watt bulbs. Was out yesterday morning and with the lights directed correctly I'm getting a tremendous amound of light even with the two cloudy lenses. I've decided to replace the lenses as nothing I've done to fix them has worked. I was amazed yesterday. I had been...
No. The lense and the housing are one piece. No way to scrub the inside of the lens. Soaking the thing in alcohol is supposed to fix it but did not in my case.
Two of my four lenses have become very cloudy on the inside. Too cloudy to transmit much light. Hella suggested soaking them in rubbing alcohol for 24 hours or so. I have now done this twice with no effect. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Thank you. I think I understand the pros and cons from a technical perspective. My question really is am I going to be blown away by the performance improvement versus what I have now? Maybe no way to get a good answer as people's use for their vehicles differ dramatically and experiences...
After switing to a CDL transfer case in my 03 Discovery, I am looking at a Detroit locker rear and a Detroit truetrac front. I'm building an expedition type vehicle which has a 2" OME lift and larger than stock but not huge tires. What I'm looking for is for someone to share with me what to...
It's my rack. I don't see how drilling a couple of small holes ruins it. I won't ever sell the rack so resale is not an issue. Please explain I asked the question because i want to drill straight holes for the hardware that came with the bush cables. Please elaborate so I understand how I...
Olip. Thank you. Also, thank you to the people who pointed out why that much weight on the roof is not a good idea. That was the kind of information I was looking for. The bullshit insults i can live without. Not sure why it isn't sufficient to make an argument. I guess some people need to...
Chris, I own a townhome. The garages are not tall enough for my Discovery with a modest lift and roof rack. I park on the street in front of my house. Mongo should have no trouble finding me. :-) Jimmy, I use fuel for my lanterns and stove as well as for the vehicle. As I mentioned, gas...
Mongo. You are a pretty tough guy online. I am asking questions because I do not know the answers. If I did, I wouldn't be asking. Why is everyone else civil except you. I don't mind being wrong but you are an ass. Would love to meet you in person. My address is 649 N Post Oak Ln...
fishEH- Thanks. With the stiffest OME suspension, do you think I need to consider spacers or something to prevent the rear from sagging? I've had the vehicle pretty loaded and have not needed them but four fuel cans and two water cans seems like a lot. Thanks for your opinion in advance.
Kenneth- "Numb-nuts?" I had forgotten why I have stayed away from this board for so long. Having said that, your point is well taken. The front bumper is a bad idea. I am just experimenting with different ideas. Was looking for ways to distribute the weight instead of it all being in the...
Thanks Leadvegas,
I am considering these things. I have the heaviest suspension offered by Old Man Emo and may get spacers to add to it. The only problem with water insie is the limited space for gear. I have a soft case for the roof for sleeping bags, pillows, etc. but the other gear takes...
