Looks like it's working out better than I hoped. Fella in NJ is picking it up at the Metal Dash and handing it off to a guy who lives near him who's coming to Atlanta in a couple of weeks to pick up a chassis.

I bought a winch in Maine and need to get it to Atlanta (or Frederick, MD or Charlottesville, VA). I've made arrangements to get it to either CT or NJ via the Rover Underground Railroad on the 30th. Anyone making a trip south from there anytime after that?

When the grease comes back out of the end of the zerk it means a combination of the zerk check valve not working and the u-joint being so clogged that you're pressurizing the channel right behind zerk and the only place it can go is back out the zerk.
Is it still that the starter motor doesn't respond normally when the engine is hot?
If so, sounds like heat soak, especially if the heat shield isn't there, and it won't have anything to do with fuel or ignition.
