I am still beyond impressed by BlackBox Solutions stuff.
The DEC is essentially unsupported.
I recently bought a newer Verus, it runs rings around the DEC, but only goes back to ‘96. TBH, I couldn’t begin to tell you when I last used my DEC.
For ‘87 to ‘04, the Rovacom/Rovacom Lite/FaultMate...
Bullshit!
ALL of the Motronics engines had the same risk of oil pump failure.
Not even the P38s were immune, in fact, I’m not sure the only reason we saw fewer failures of the P38 engines was due to a slightly less fragile cooling system.
I have encountered busted oil pumps in ‘99s, but have...
Legend has it that there was a “technology swap” taking place and the Brit’s were looking for help with engine design.
supposedly one of the engineers saw a 215 (the 262 was a later SBC used in late 70s/80s, the first SBC was a 265) sitting in a corner of the shop and expressed interest and...
W/R/T gasket replacement
Merely replacing head gaskets is folly of the highest order and is asking for failure shortly.
Cylinder heads MUST be resurfaced.
W/R/T main bearing, only a hack would remove main caps to use plastigage to measure bearing gaps. Not to mention that fact that RV8 mains...

if the buyer lives where inspections are conducted, the airbags will need to be present and not cause any lights to come on
for the rare...
Pipe dope for the fasteners going into the water jacket
high tack on most gasket surfaces
Anti-seize on fasteners that don’t get pipe dope
you’ll be fine
If you do decide to remove the console, start lining the fasteners from underneath NOW!
I can’t tell you how many I have broken and had to drill/curse/drill/curse/tap
What are you looking for? While my inventory has been depleted of late, I have a shipment coming today and another as soon as the Queen’s funeral is over with.
As for BearMach, I never like to see a company in business since 1958 go under
I will have to check on pricing and availability, I just replaced the fuel pump in my ‘98, and still need another for my ‘99, but I think the one I put in my truck was priced such that I could sell them at most $275 shipped, but I have to determine which vendor it was.
Worse yet, Steel Dynamics recently announced they were shuttering the last blast furnace in Indiana and were going to raise prices by $50/ton immediately
Nothing like manipulating the market from both supply and demand sides!
