What is the flare on the Ace tube that connects to the valve block? Is it a push connect flare? One of mine has a bit of rot right at the block and I'd like to replace the section that mounts to the block and tie it in to line that runs to the rear ram with a steel compression fitting. It looks...
I checked for vacuum leaks using a stogie and found 4 small leaks; the dumb plastic clip for the vaccum line on right side of the upper intake manifold, 2 leaks between the MAF & throttle body and the butterfly valve. Pulled the right O2 sensor plug and it looked spotless and I noticed a little...
The truck has been intermittently running rough just after start-up. It will clear up and run fine after a few minutes. Most of the time no codes are thrown but I have had a brief flash of the CEL and codes P1300, P0302, P0304, P0306, P0308. Now since I’m getting misfires on both coil packs I’m...
The Hawkeye will also allow you to reprogram the BCU fog function - 3 options; no fog, fog off with main beam and fog not affected by main beam (main beam is "high beam"). Just reprogrammed my BCU tonight for the fogs and to get rid of the seat belt chime.
I think that is my issue. The dust shield looked like it was closer to the CV joint on the side that keeps leaking when compared to the good side. Is there a reference measurement that can be used to determine if it is in the correct position and can it be moved back into place?
Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I'm having a similar problem. Swapped out both my front axle seals but the passenger side started leaking again about a month later. Swapped it out for a second time and it started leaking again :mad:I'm running Redline heavy shockproof fluid and couldn't...
I don't think I was leaking as bad as you but my leak stopped after adding some White Shepherd and switching to Redline Heavy Shockproof fluid. I was worried that the leak had washed out the grease that's packed in the hub from the factory. I repacked it by removing the abs sensor and pumping it...
Update:
This morning was the coldest morning so far this season and I saw the same issue when starting the truck. I tried this suggestion:
"Next time it does it give the engine a little rev... i have seen regulators not kick in until a certain rpm or voltage was seen,,,mite be a glitchy reg...
Update:
Checked all of the alternator connections and grounding points as well as the battery connections. All were clean and tight except for the the battery ground connection - the clamping bolt was tight but the clamp was worn so that it didn't grab the battery post tightly.
Always best...
Thanks guys
I will check the ground and battery connections one more time. I did notice that the smaller yellow wire on the alternator looks like it had a different connector spliced onto it. Does this wire feed the rotor coil?
Hi
I have recently replaced my battery and had my alternator rebuilt by a reputable guy that has done good work for me in the past.
The last two mornings were pretty chilly. Yesterday morning I fired up the truck and noticed that the battery light stayed illuminated. The voltage was showing...

<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:OfficeDocumentSettings> <o:AllowPNG/> </o:OfficeDocumentSettings> </xml><![endif]--> Get under your rig and have someone with a bit of muscle rock it back and forth. You should be able to pinpoint the culprit - I'd guess watts linkage or sway bar links.

I had to replace an actuator and unfortunately the only way to properly bleed the actuator side of the system is to have the actuator fully extended with the pump running. I used the Hawkeye to bleed mine -firmware version 4 and above has the bleed routine.
We Canadians have pretty thick skins - you need it for the cold and black flies up here ;)
Thanks for the input guys. Now that I actually take a look at the side view of of the slimline, it definitely looks like it doesn't mount properly ... and yes.... Quebec raises some red flags.
Hi
I was looking at front bumper options and found this guy: http://www.rockhardfabs.com/landrover.html . Does anyone here have experience with his products? There must be some Canadian members that are familiar with his stuff. I see his ads on Kijiji sometimes selling the slimline bumper for...
Hey Kyle
My rig runs pretty cool: 188(highway)-197(idle) in 90 deg weather with the PEL500110 thermostat. I'm just trying to improve cabin cooling efficiency. I notice if I set the climate control to Economy the air coming through the vents seems quite a bit warmer than the outside ambient...
Has anyone successfully installed a heater core bypass valve something like this:
http://www.thermotion.com/pdf/4_Port_Data_Sheet.pdf
I've always hated the idea of hot coolant constantly flowing through the heater core and relying on a plastic flap to keep the hot air separated from the cold...
I drive a Land Rover.... intuition is not one of my strengths ;) In all seriousness I have a damaged tail light assembly to test a bulb on. I figured if heat was an issue I would try to vent the back side of the housing. I'd really like to get better night time reverse visibility.
