Oil Line Cut after Cat Theft - Trying to Repair

Those are transmission cooler lines. Do not try to repair the cut, replace them. You can purchase those second hand, member "will tillery" probably has them. After replacing make sure you check the transmission fluid level, you will normally lose around a quart when swapping cooler lines. The ZF...

D2 Engine Identification on Parts Sites

Normally the engine numbers that are referred to are easily found as the eighth digit of the vin. I have a 02' D2, there were two different vin codes in 2002 a 2 and 5. They are different and yours could be the same.

Is anyone making good bumpers anymore?

Bill Muetze sold "Overtym" to Luke Miles at "The Shop" in Georgia. I have called and "The Shop" about the fab work that will be continued and been referred to a email address that Luke is using for the new "Overtym". I hope the standard that Bill set is upheld.

Need to replace axle seal when doing ball joints?

The tool kennith is talking about is the factory land rover tool with adaptors. Dingocroft.uk sells the tool, for roughly $1300.00 like kennith said. I replaced my upper and lower ball joints a few months ago using a snap on press CJ91 its old and tough. I tried a harbor freight bj tool...

Need to replace axle seal when doing ball joints?

X2, FWIW I did ball joints, hubs, and while I was there replaced axle seals 6 months ago. Driver side seal is good it came from AZ, pass side seal... not soo good. I've tried genuine "worst of all", britpart, allmakes. I'm going to try a axle next. Point being if it's not broke... Trust me I'm...

    D2 Front Hub Replacement?

Just be careful when removing hub/axle to not damage the axle seal. I've got a front passenger side that won't stop leaking. I've got new ball joints, hubs and about to replace the axle. So be careful.. And as far as removing the axle nut. Knock the staked section back out and hit it with a...

My ride for the weekend - Trek Series D2

It should be on the showroom floor, at least it should be in a storage facility out of the elements. I'm glad to hear it's mechanically well kept.

    Custom springs for D2

How bout sit in the driver seat and have someone measure height. I would not use a spacer on one side only, that's like using castor corrected radius arm on one side alone.

    DI discouraged

My D2 is a 02' and it's great, I did have to change my t-case to a locking. That being said, I don't care if the heads were worked yesterday, if the coolant gauge is fluctuating and a coolant smell then it's possible there is a coolant leak and coolant level is low making the gauge move. If...

    Best diff guards for D2

I bought two like this from roverware for $80 plus shipping. I had to remove some material to access the fill plug. The front pinion is tucked up and pretty well protected, the front axle housing cover is really all that needs protecting unless you're strolling through rock gardens.
