    NRP catalytic converters

magnaflow Recently replaced one cat and the muffler with magnaflow hi flow units: much better power and a sweet tone. Replaced the pipe with 2.5" pipe. Sorry, don't know the model numbers. DW

forgot to say... I think it is best to spray the individual pieces, then reassemble. Less chance for drips, and they can do a better spray job when the pieces are laying flat. Also, the next time I redo a rover, I'm going to spray the body pieces all different vintage colors, so the hood may...

respray Most shops were quoting $4 to $5k for a respray with two stage base coat clear coat paint. Very few were willing to let me do the prep work. Finally found a detail shop that did some painting on the side, for their regular customers. The owner used to own a series truck and was...

those boxy lines... Somehow, those boxy lines of a series truck just look better with the traditional colors. Modern colors look odd on a series, like a street person wearing a new coat. I did all the disassembly and prep work on my 88", left any paint that was really tight, bought the paint...

Does anyone have a clever way to transport fishing poles?

on my yakima rack.. I have some of their accesories that carry kayaking paddles: they are a u shaped piece with a strap that closes off the top (open) end, clamps to the round cross bars.. I use this for carrying long skinny stuff, and have also used used it for the high lift. Can't remember...

Various questions re: lug nuts, tire size, rust and rhino lining

rhino liner is not a rust solution Have seen a few trucks with some type of rhino lining, rust has found it's way under the lining and had attacked the steel. The best solution is remove as much rust as possible, then use something like POR to coat the steel. And maybe get rid of the padding...

    Kaymar Rear Bumper

Jack's right... Had a kaymar on the back of a FJ62, it did several good things: stronger rear bumper, let me move the spare tire up from under the rear, gave me a place for the jerry can, gave me a work light. That stuff was good, but the fit and finish were not great, maybe a 5 out of 10...

    RRC Interior Parts

Brit Car Service http://www.britishcarservice.net/ Robert: you might give them a call: don't know if they ship. I'm sure they would have the parts. They part out rovers nearly every week, lots of stock. Speak with Paul. Good luck. DW

    RRC Interior Parts

Sounds like a gorilla stole your radio... Robert: sounds like a real mess. I had the same problem last Xmas, some idiot broke in and tried to steal the head unit, broke the window, radio housing, fuse cover... Went to British Car Service here in LA, they have a service that parts out range...

    Cupholder? nothing? any ideas...

spare Tuffy cupholders Got a 1990 RRC, used a spare Tuffy cup holder and screwed it to the rear of the stock center console. I can reach it, the rear seat passengers can reach it. Lowered it a bit to allow for the lid to open all the way: works great. Yea, had to screw into the console, but...

5th LR vehicle yet to be announced?

it just might be the range stormer... At a recent range rover experience, the LRNA rep indicated that the stormer is being developed for production. So maybe that's what it is. DW

    Spare Tire Cover

joey tire cover There's a company somewhere in Colorado that makes different types of covers: they make them for a bunch of LR dealerships. One model has a zippered cover on the outside face of the cover, holds spare parts, tools, bits and pieces, then zippers shuts. Very cool, Bill Burke had...

    Back-up light

try this.... Jose: I was going to do this, but never got around to it. Get a circular steel plate cut about the diameter of the inside of the spare wheel, drill three holes for the mounting bolts, have a short piece of steel angle welded to the plate, drill a hole in the angle for the light...

    Saw an LR3 Today........

it's different.. Saw one a few weeks ago at a range rover experience in socal: it's definitely not a traditional disco, the body lines are not as well developed as the traditional disco, a bit boxy and unrefined. But this one had been off-road tested, looked underneath to check out the...

Jose, give me a shout I had doodled around with a rear light and have a solution that mounts to the rear tire carrier. That extra dash plate can hold a few more light switches! DW
