Hey all, this forum has been super helpful in my n00b days of working on the D2.

A little bit of context on the issue I am having with my 04 D2 (~140k miles)
  • Was throwing P0300, 303, 304, 305, 306, 308, no other codes
  • Was starting but rough idle and solid SES light, didn't drive it
  • Unplugged battery negative on Friday night, replaced plugs (champion double platinum) and cables (magnecor 7mm) this weekend (without removing IM), reconnected battery negative
  • Alarm went off on reconnect, used fob to unlock a few times
  • Engine cranks but won't start, no M&S showing
  • When key is in position 2, it shows SES, battery light, and oil light
  • Scangauge shows ready with no pending or other codes, showing battery giving off 12v in key position 2
  • Tried unlocking/locking a few times with key and fob (in case immobilized), tried inertia switch
Not sure if dead battery is causing this (just ordered a maintainer) or if there are other issues.

CPS seems to be a good candidate, just surprised the car was starting before plugs and not after, with no miles put on in between.

Appreciate any guidance. Thanks!

@pdxrovermech Thanks for the response - all 8 wires are plugged in to their relevant spot on coil pack and corresponding plug, in the correct layout, if that's what you're asking.

FWIW, I replaced the cables without removing the IM

Replaced the battery and got it started with a touch of starting fluid last night. Got rid of 2 of the misfires, now throwing 300 304 306 308. Going to check those plugs/wires today.

Weird popping sound.

This morning on cold start, it was revving above 2k RPM a few times before settling down. Seems maybe a vac leak?

Thanks for all of the help
