Howdy, after a few years of following this page this is my first ever post.

This month I purchased my second ever LR. This is an 04, 100k miles. The pictures I posted were from the day after purchase. Dealer got it on a trade in and was no help in getting me in contact with the previous owner. I’m not complaining I got a hell of a deal but I need some help figuring out a few things I need to fix with the car.

Starting with the second row seat light gauge. How do I fix/ replace that? Especially if I have access to another non broken one.

Has anyone ever used Prostobe LED lights?

Installed in the Rear right metal bumper is a back up camera I believe? There’s a small monitor on the dash I believe is connected to it somehow. Pictures to come.

What do I do about the rust below. Along with under the passanger seat?

Also I still have my previous 01. Shes totaled from damage on the right side but most of her other parts as well as the mechanical parts run well. I’m actually switching out the exhaust from the 01 into the 04.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated, I’ll answer any questions you have and if you’re in the Raleigh-Durham area let me know, I’m born and raised and would love to connect.

cheers,

Muema

Here’s the 01, I still have. Crazy enough she’s still drivable…just not legally of course. Haven’t sold and parts off her yet mainly because I need to change the exhaust.

Welcome to Dweb!

like rovercanus said remove that rotted piece

your new truck has an aftermarket rear bumper, not sure which manufacturer

the little camera peaking out is of course aftermarket too, as are the headlights….not sure we can help you there unless someone I has the same aftermarket headlights

there’s got to be a way to remove & replace that broken seat latch

what the hell hit your old D2? Amazing that it’s still driveable!

Spun out on some ice and hit a deer at high speed in the snow. If you think this looks bad you should have seen the tree.

I got the cars interior detailed yesterday and it exposed a lot of rust. Here are some pics.

it’s only *from what I can see* on the front send of the interior and exterior. How can I help stop the spread?

@Blue still Trying to figure out how to replace the larger rear seat latch but in the time being at least I can lift the seat.
Yes you can see the screws but if I was to replace it with a new one from my old car I’m still not sure how to take the old *not* broken handle with it breaking it.

I think the back of the seat trim comes off pretty easy. Then all the latch and cables would be exposed. It’s been a long time but I’m pretty sure the back of that seat is secured with one of those plastic channels that folds over itself to lock in place.

The broken pieces in the seat back are cover piece along with handle. I would remove the cover and pull up on the broken red center piece with locking pliers and see if cable releases the seat back if not like Disco Stew recommends removing seat back panel to inspect the cable maybe a cable will do. Then replace the assembly with the other one.

Spray some WD40 on the cable wire itself.

You'll probably want to take off the door sill in the 6th pic and pull up the carpet a bit to see what's going on under there.

I would take that plastic piece off the rocker panel too and see what's going on.

Again, given the undercarriage I would doubt it's terrible (the seat mounts give me a little pause though, as those are a bit rusty), but whatever is there will only get worse if you don't deal with it...
