Has anyone figured out how to fix the rocking drivers seat on 04 Disco?

Does the drivers seat from an "S" have the same issue?

If not, does the "S" seat fit in the "SE" model?

thanks

All d2 seats should fit. There shouldn't be any rocking. My 99 had a driver's seat that rocked, and it was broken. When I took it out to replace it, rusted pieces of the power mechanism fell out.

Mine has the same issue. I havent gotten as far as taking it out but I am planning on it in the next week or two as I need to replace the heating element in the seat as well and I am going to do a redye on both front seats. I am thinking like ^^^^above there are some broken parts in there somewhere.

I have two of the same seat (04 SE drivers side). I plan on mounting the spare seat to some wood and hopefully figure it out.

I hope its something easy, but if not then perhaps tracking down a "S" seat, but be the best. I could always move the leather over.

So the "S" seat has the exact same connectors as the "SE" seat?

Do I need to change any of the switches or change the programing as the S seat moves in less directions?

The S drivers' seat move the same as the others. Some of the S passenger's seats (like mine) only move forward and back, and the seat back reclines. Mine has lumbar on the passenger side too.

The connectors should be the same, but there would be extras for things like heated seats, which an S with vinyl/cloth only has if ordered with the cold weather package.

Are you saying the "S" seat has the same rock back and forth issue like the "SE" seat or

that the "S" has the same movement features as the "SE" seat, I thought the "S" has less movement options, but I could be wrong - perhaps the only difference is the lumbar support?

Would be an easy fix if the "S" didn't rock back and forth, then I would just track down one of those

None of the seats rock. Your seat is broken. My S driver's seat is 8 way. Only the passenger S seat might be 4 way. My 99 driver seat rocked. It was broken. I repaced it and no more rocking.

When you guys are saying it rocks... what do you mean? Like 3 inches or more front to back?

No its minimul but you can feel it while breaking or accelerating fast lol. Seems like something is loose on the mount or something. Its not enough for me to get motivated enough to figure it out yet.

I've got the same issue. There are two motors mounted below the seat. There are small metal tabs (1 1/2") on the end of the motor toward the back of the seat that come up through the seat frame to hold them in place. This prevents them from moving back and forth (or allowing the seat to rock) when the screw is advanced through the motor as you adjust it with the switch. It's a surprisingly small piece of steel. Your seat frame probably isn't broken, it's probably this small piece. I'm waiting for the parts department to open to see if they'll even sell this small piece or if they'll want to sell me a whole new motor. Of course they will!!!

One of my '04s did this and it was a broken frame. It had to be replaced under warranty. Sounds like it's a common issue so you'll most likely have to replace the lower frame. It used to drive me nuts on acceleration and braking.
