Top end is fresh
Engine was pulled, running with not a code, from a truck with front end damage.
Tried:

Many plug gaps
Several coil packs
Compression good
Spark good
Three ECU
Two fuel pumps
New fuel filter
New wire harness
Several sets of plug wires
Reset values

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Based on my very recent experience - bent tabs on the reluctor ring. Unfortunately, the best way to verify its condition is to pull the oil pan and rotate the crank by hand, looking at the tabs.
The rivets that hold this ring to the flywheel get loose with time.

Holy sit, those are jacked. I’ve seen one broken tab before. But nothing like that. I will check mine tomorrow.

In my case, the reluctor ring fell off the flywheel entirely. The rivets on it have been loose for a long time; about 5-6 years ago, I tried to use some metal-impregnated epoxy to aid the old rivets, apparently it didn't do any good.

The symptoms were these -
- for a few years, I had an occasional gross misfire, without any consequences; replaced the CkPS in hopes to fix it. It did fix it, for a while.
- It's been progressively more difficult to pass smog;
- the engine was making a sound not unlike starter gears not fully disengaging;
- then, for no apparent reason, the engine wouldn't run past 2k rpm. No CEL, no codes.
- And then it wouldn't start at all.
I unbolted the inspection plate, and a rivet fell out. The reluctor ring was entirely loose.

So. We checked the reluctor ring. It had some tabs that weren?t perfect. But nothing crazy. Made sure they were all evenly spaced. We did find the crank sensor was bent. So a new one went in. It drove for maybe 50 miles with no codes, then they all came back. The only thing I can find off now, is the cat temps. I?m getting lower temps post cat. I know this is a sign that the cats are clogged. Can this cause 1313 and 1314? I don?t know where else to look.

Thanks

Chad

One of the tabs was bent when I sat it on the stand. It hit the sensor and bent it. All tabs are equal distance and straight now. Still getting codes.
