Not a Rover, but it shares enough parts that I think it counts...

Selling my 1980 TR8 to make room for a series truck I'm buying off a friend. Asking $9500 obo.

Factory 3.5l Rover V8 and LT77 5spd transmission.

One of about 2700 made and just a few hundred are left running.

Great mechanical condition and runs well. Garage kept. About 90,000 original miles. For me it's been fast, fun, and reliable. I've driven from the east coast to the midwest many times without issue. Since my ownership (starting 2014), I've done the following:

-Fixed all the convertible rust (floor pans and rockers). New metal welded in, seam sealed, and coated. It wasn't bad when I got it but needed some love. I took lots of pictures of this work. Also de-rusted, painted, and undercoated the rest of the vehicle. Boxed frame sections sprayed inside with Eastwood waxoyl.
-New springs and shocks all around.
-Put in high lift Erson cam, new lifters, and new valve springs.
-Holley 4bbl and appropriate intake manifold to replace the original twin Strombergs.
-Headers and stainless exhaust (it's the factory "noisy" exhaust system)
-Alloy radiator and new electric cooling fan to replace the power-sucking hogs from the factory.
-New interior: carpet, reupholstered seats, door panels, etc.
-New tires, wheels powder coated.
-New convertible top.
-Fixed all the other gremlins. Probably more I could list but importantly everything works and works like it should. This thing rips. It's been my nice weather daily since 2015.

The paint is nice for being original. There's some oxidation here and there but it shines up well. The front left and right rear fenders had some body work done before my ownership and could be revisited. With a fresh paint job it would look like a show car, but I like the original look.

Located in Silver Spring, MD right outside Washington, DC.

Below are some photos so you get the idea. I can send plenty more to an interested buyer. It would come with all the parts to return it to stock if you so desire.
