While the Toy axles are nice in theory and marginally stronger than a HD Rover axle. I think their proprietary nature and lack of available parts is a deterrent for most people that don't have access to a machine shop.

Machine shop for what. If the kit was bought from Keith. Then all you would have to worry about is axles and he's told me and others that if axles are needed then to just give him a call. Toy diffs and parts are readily available. And the custom stuff from Keith are very substantial

I'm not trying to argue with you just pointing out why this truck is not flying off the shelf. But since you asked. The drive flanges are one, which there is someone on pirate right now trying to find some. To replace the ones he had. Then Stub Axles is another. I remember several threads where Jake was trying to find some to replace one that got messed up on this truck.

Even if Keith has made that offer. It's not like he's got those laying on a shelf he's going to have to order them and then machine them. So the turn around on that will be less than speedy. If Keith happens to change his mind or get hit by a bus. You'll need need to find someone else to make custom axles. Can it be done? Certainly, is this something the average rover owner will want to mess with? Probably not.

Honestly, I've considered buying this truck and if it was closer I would be looking at it. I also considered buying Jake's DI when it was for sale. The reason I didn't is because I want something that's trail fixable and where parts are readily available. I still think this truck is a good deal to the right buyer. The problem is finding one.

Wasnt meant to be an argument! as always when you type people take it as being offended. I'm just going by what I was told by Keith. Just wish forums didn't always have to end up with bashing.

If you think pointing out that this is not a straight bolt in kit with readily available parts is bashing the truck. So be it. I can live with that. But never did I say it was not worth what you are asking. I even said I thought it was a good deal for the right buyer and that I'd considered it myself. I just think if you're selling custom built stuff a buyer should be aware that these items are not readily available and might need to be custom made.

Damn, and he thought I was being a dick. I'd pay that much for just the axles if he put them on a pallet and shipped them to me.

thanks for the offer but I'll pass on that as buddy said that a close offer for the axles alone. Buddy, I don't think you were being a dick it's just that we don't drive jeeps and can go through a drive through for new axles and such. So if spares are on your mind then plan ahead for it.

This truck was never my daily driver so if some thing broke then I fixed them at my leisure. Being prepare on the trail was something I Was concerned with and that's why I went with the toy conversion I never planned going bigger than 35" anyway and Toyota guys run 40's on axles setups like this

So the truck is still for sale if Anybody wants to offer something reasonable as a whole. Lol

Understood, I do like the extra strength of the Toyota stuff. Which is why I keep looking at these and the FZJ80 axles every time I see one for sale. But it's hard to justify given how much $ I have in my current axles. But if you do decide to part it. I'd probably be interested in the axles. Just out of curiosity, what gears are they running?

The left hand inner wheel well is completely cut out including that body mount. Just after where a second battery could go. Pretty much the metal that is above the shock mount. It may sound like a lot but it's just maybe 7-8 pieces and then weld in and fab a new body mount. I can get pics later I thought I had them on my phone but I don't.

All or most parts can be found at YRM...

FWIW, I've ordered parts from ULC(including some YRM parts and got them pretty quickly).
They were Defender parts so I dont know if they stock the RRC stuff.
But, I know Urban has gotten a bad rep(deservedly so) but that was mostly in-house resto jobs.
My experience buying parts was great.

Contact YRM directly. They are very responsive, show stock-level online, and shipping is quick and reasonable. No reason to look anywhere else.
