SOLD!

eBay sucks. Here's basically the description from there (so please excuse the 'bidding' language). The wheels and tires are being offered separately in the parts section because I have someone interested in the truck without the wheels and tires. However, if you're interested in the whole truck, then let me know asap!

Reduced to $1350. Located in zip 45810.

Offered for sale is a tan 1994 Land Rover Discovery I with the 3.9L V8. All known issues and modifications are listed below, as well as all terms of the sale. Please read everything fully before asking questions or bidding. I’ll answer any questions I can if sent in enough time. The reserve is reasonable and is worth the value in parts alone.

I’ve put little miles on it since I’ve owned it as it was a second and is now a third (all Land Rovers) vehicle. I was building this up as a trail rig but have just too many projects going on right now to devote the proper time for it and with a new job and move coming up, it’s time to sell!

I’m also selling my 1996 Discovery 4.0L. If you purchase both vehicles, I’ll knock off $100 from the total!

1994 Land Rover Discovery 3.9L V8i SE7 – Tan Exterior/tan interior

168,044 miles
VIN: SALJY124XRA104630

Features and Condition:

- Dual sunroofs
- Passenger side fire extinguisher mount/holder (fire extinguisher not included)
- Seats 7 people. Back seats and lap belts are currently removed but are included with the vehicle (jump seats are still mounted). I took these out to free up room for a camping trip. The rear seats are in good condition and in excellent shape. The front seats are also in good condition and are definitely above average. There are no major stains or rips. Driver’s seat shows little wear and the cloth wears well. Please see pictures for more details.
- Tan exterior/tan cloth interior
- Driver and passenger deep mud floor mats. Excellent shape.
- Comes from a non-smoking home.
- Five OTR Mud Hi-Tec Retread Tires (245/75/R16) are like brand new (placed on June 2007 and have less than 1000 miles on them). These work very well in mud and snow and are still good and quiet at highway speeds.
- Full size matching spare with alloy wheel on new carrier. (Original steel spare wheel and tire is included also!)
- Front bumper plastic is removed to allow turning clearance for the tires and in preparation for an aftermarket winch bumper!
- Exhaust shows some rust and the resonator has been removed and replaced with flex pipe. Catalytic converter is still present though condition is unknown. (see pictures).
- Frame is consistent with its age (see pictures)
- Locking differential works well.
- Factory roof rack and cross bars.
- Locking fuel door works well.
- Two OE keys and two remotes (need batteries)
- Blaupunkt in dash CD player & Blaupunkt replacement speakers. Separate amp under passenger seat for powering rear door speakers.
- Old Man Emu (OME) Heavy Duty springs and shocks (~2” lift) – original springs are included also if you wish to return to stock height
- Dual zone climate control.
- Original Land Rover manual
- I’m also including a factory service manual on CD and cross-reference conversion table for aftermarket parts. Very useful if you do any work on it yourself.

- Clean CarFax.

Updates, Repairs, and Service History:

- Engine was replaced in March of 2002 with an original 3.9L V8 by the Engine Exchange in Columbus, Ohio (documentation indicates used long block w/47,000 on engine.)

- Expansion tank replaced 1/03
- Fan clutch 7/03
- Alternator replaced at 162,054 miles in 11/2006

- Rotors and pads were replaced at 154,036 and are in good shape and work well

Tune up in February/March 2007:
- Distributor rebuilt
- Distributor cap replaced
- Ignition Rotor replaced
- Ignition coil replaced
- Ignition modulator replaced
- New Champion 322 plugs
- New Kingsborne 8mm wires
- Fuel pump replaced
- Fuel filter replaced
- New Serpentine belt
- New winter/flex wiper blades
- Other misc maintenance items (oil, air filter, etc.)

- Lots of documentation and receipts.

The Known Issues:

- Anti-lock light is on
- SRS light is on
- Resonator is removed and replaced with straight pipe
- Needs new motor mounts. I’ll include two brand new Land Rover mounts with the sale.
- Rotoflex should be replaced. I’ll include new one in the sale as well.
- Some light limb scratches on the sides of the vehicle
- Front passenger side corner scratches and small dent (see pictures)
- Uses/seeps some oil. Never been an issue.
- Multifunction unit needs replaced. (Controls dome light, alarm, and wipers or something like that.) A replacement is being included.
- Missing radio antenna
- Rear bumper cover is slightly curled on driver’s side top (see pictures). It does not limit the tailgate from opening at all.
- Interior tailgate trim/panel is removed. It is included with the sale.
- Driver’s side exterior lock is stiff to lock, but still functional and works well unlocking. Passenger side works well for both locking and unlocking.

- Uses/leaks coolant: I can not say for certain if there is a leak or if there is a head gasket issue or not (common Rover issue). I keep a close eye on the fluid levels. It does idle smoothly and will idle without overheating. I have noticed some coolant seeping or burning off at the radiator near the power steering reservoir. It burns off as soon as it hits that so I am unable to tell where if there is a specific leak. It has not been pressure tested. I’ll gladly answer any more questions, but again, I can not be certain as to if it is a leak, head gasket, valley gasket, or what issue this might be. Please bid accordingly.

Vehicle/Rover Standard Issues or Notes:

- Headliner is sagging
- Does leak from rear sunroof in sustained rain
- No Dash curling (dash in excellent shape)
- Intermittent wipers work well
- Power locks do not function. Likely to be driver’s side motor which controls all the others. Remotes therefore, do not do anything until that’s fixed.
- Rear door (tailgate) exterior lock does not work. Likely seized. Works fine manually from the cabin

To Sum up:

I hope you can see I have every effort to fully disclose all the issues regardless of how small because all sales are final and no one likes surprises. I’ve also included many pictures but if you want one of something specific, please ask before auction ends.

Thats a nice looking Disco, I wish I had an extra $1350. Oh well, I'll be looking for something just like this about this time next year.

Deposit received. Pending to I HATE PONIES. Looks good guys for pickup on the weekend.

I am trying to make it happen sometime during the week. I have the trailer secured. Now if I can get the tow vehicle and driver it will be spot on. If not I will be towing with Molly and then it would be Saturday at the latest.

That should be plenty of time for a nice wash and wax.

Why trailer it???? It runs and drives. I seen it!

Rent a dolley, and remove rear driveshaft. Worked perfectly when I went and got his 96. I towed it with my D1 and all worked out just fine.

Wednesday morning would work well for me. If you do get a dolly, make sure it can fit over the oversized front tires.

The trailer is owned by my driver so its free. He also has some trailer brakes on his tow vehicle which I think is a plus. We are planning to leave here in the early A.M. We should be there by 12:00 noon Wednesday. Can you P.M. or email your address and some directions?
