I need some help with my 1996 Disco's sunroof. I want to clean up the old sealing attempt, replace the gaskets, and the drain tubes. Has anyone done this and if so what and where did you get the supplies? The lines I am probably going to replace with generic lines I match up at a store and guestimate the length. I am not finding the gaskets though. Thanks for any help.

I’ve only done them on my 2000 D2. I had purchased a second 2003 D2 for parts. It’d been in an accident. And a few sub roof parts from the salvage yard. Between those I completely clean all parts and then chose the best quality from the batch. The tubes I replaced with some clear line I had from my saltwater aquariums. The D2 frames that plastic drain corner always breaks. But with others I had I was able to come up with four that worked. Then I sealed them up with a high quantity black rtv. Ruff up all surfaces and wipe down with a good solvent lIke 99% Isopropyl prior to gluing it all together. I did the same for the sunroof frame to roof seal. both of my sunroofs work flawlessly. Hope that helps.

RavenMocker thanks, that gives me some idea of a good direction. I have the headliner out and going to roll it with bedliner covering. While it's out I want to fix anything and everything with the roof before it goes back in. I appreciate it.

I still haven't fixed my headliner. But I think I might go with some of the carpet type fabric they use for speakers

Cut the drain lines rather than trying to remove them from the plastic drain part. I’d suggest removing the sunroof assembly and resealing it to the body. I used lifeseal (marine) on ours. I also resealed the plastic drain tube connectors with 3m 5200 (again marine). I didn’t replace the sunroof seals because they looked good but this fixed all our leaks. Oh And if u cut the tubes close to the plastic drain u should be fine to reuse them. Ours we’re fine. It’s pretty easy once u get the headliner down. Gordo
