This 1997 Discovery is in great condition - ready for the beach now and mountains later! All items work with the exception of the cruise control. The A/C is cold, all gauges work, and the full-time 4x4 and locking center differential work fine. It has had a few upgrades such as a 2" lift, fresh powder coated wheels in Zombie Gray to match the hood and roof (newly repainted due to fading), and new oversized tires and alignment. The ride quality and handling are excellent. New VA state safety inspection. It also features the factory optional brush bar, rear ladder, keyless entry, and cargo cover in excellent condition. Odometer shows 104,000 with the title marked EXEMPT for mileage so I'm selling TMU. Rare Charleston Green paint is well above average with a few minor body/paint imperfections which are only seen if looking very closely. Original cloth interior is very nice and headliner is new with LED dome lights. Aftermarket Kenwood CD stereo is practically new. Recent new battery, brake work, power steering hoses (still drips), and state inspection. Original owner's manual with leather binder included. It's mechanically excellent with no known issues. Engine and drivetrain are strong as if they've been replaced or rebuilt by a prior owner. No-rust aluminum body with no frame or floor rust. More photos available. Drive a unique and appreciating, quality SUV with legendary performance! Matt 540-254-1698 (Landline)

No. He painted it the same gray as the wheels. I believe this is a style like the weird Defender builds that go for top dollar.
This has become a trend. I bought a gold D1 that the previous owner replaced the hood/bonnet with a white one as the original had been damaged. I brought it home and just knew my wife would be disapproving (as always with such purchases) and I immediately explained I would be repainting it to match. Much to my surprise, she said she liked it and I should leave it that way. My wife is a “bit” younger than me but acts and thinks way younger, clinging to youth she is. I then started noticing the two tone hood/ roof treatment on many vehicles, matching the wheels. I guess I’m just not too observant. However, I do plan to paint that white hood gold... I guess I’m just old school. I also at first didn’t like the flat dull paint finishes that became the rage a few years back. It looked to me like people painted with primer and ran out of money for the finish coat. However, the flat look has grown on me, particularly for accents on wheels and such.
