I installed a set of Terrafirma 2 inch lift spacers and kept my air springs. Lucky 8 told me that I don't need to replace my rear shocks as they are good for a 2 inch lift however one of the reasons I wanted to keep the air springs was for the additional 3 inches of lift available by pushing that button on the dash.

So my question is: do I need different shocks if I want to maintain that feature which is in effect 5 inches of lift? If so, any recommendations? I was looking at the TF128's.

Get your measuring tape out and do the math. Measure eye to eye with the truck sitting level, then again with it raised all the way up.
Pull the shock off and measure your collapsed and extended length. If you are close to maxing out in either direction then you might need different shocks.

After a few test drives I was getting a loud thump on rebound in the rear so that answers my question, I need the +2 shocks.

No but I know who you’re talking about his name is Juan, he flies a Luscombe and he sure does like to talk. I’m kind of a quiet guy
