Hi, I'm looking to trade my beautiful Jaguar for a Land Rover, preferably a nice RRC, maybe a D1 or series project. It's just not practical for me anymore, I'm 6'7 with two big dogs.

And a cold start:

Here are the contents of the eBay listing:

Enthusiast-owned 2000 Jaguar XK8 convertible. This is a wonderful car and the best possible color combination, one of the best examples you will find.

Over $30k in maintenance and restoration, including:
  • Machined and rebuilt engine with metal tensioners
  • Rebuilt transmission by European transmission specialists
  • New convertible top hydraulic lines
  • New convertible top pump
  • New convertible top latch
  • New convertible top hydraulic ram
  • Hidden Bluetooth kit
  • Refinished original wood from England
  • New door cards and center console
  • New old stock leather steering wheel
  • New tonneau cover
  • New AC system
  • New 19" Coventry wheels (ceramic coated)
  • New staggered Pilot Sport 4S tires, about 10k miles on the set
  • Misc. suspension
  • New genuine headlights
  • Repaired original seats
  • NEW REVISED VALVE COVERS, NO LEAKS
  • Mina Gallery stainless-steel exhaust system with center x-pipe, sounds near exotic
  • New sun visors with perfect labels
  • New rear view mirror due to failed adhesive
  • Entire new cooling system, including all hoses, water pump, and radiator
  • EBC pads and rotors
  • Revised metal thermostat housing
  • So much more
It has never been through an automatic wash and has had consistent 3k mile synthetic oil changes. I also have various genuine parts, spares, and upgrades I never got around to installing I can supply.

Only issues are sticky seatbelt retractors. I can include at least one seatbelt retractor from a 30k mile car.

This is a high mileage example, however anyone familiar with these cars knows many of the items above listed above will fail before 100k miles. It is nicer than the majority of sub-50k mile cars which often have faded wood and damaged interiors.

13x,xxx mileage. Clean GA title.

Thanks, it really is the daily-drivable equivalent of an E-type, it definitely sounds like it. It is also the last Jaguar with beautiful wood, leather, and gauges. As I said, I just need something more utilitarian now. I'd rather it go to an enthusiast, but if nobody wants to trade I'll have to sell it and buy a Land Rover.

I will have the seat lowered by a fabricator, there's not many cars I fit well in, it is what it is. I used to own one and double checked I could fit well recently with the covid weight.

I value it at $14-17k. You will find XK8s for $7-10k often with low miles, but at this age they are almost all due for thousands in maintenance instantly. I'm over $30k (excluding purchase price) into this car, and I can tell you if you actually want an XK8 you can use it's a good value. There isn't aftermarket support for these cars as with Land Rovers, genuine parts are often the only option and cost hundreds to thousands. The convertible top latch alone was $1400 and is one of the dozens of parts replaced. It is also in above average cosmetic condition. I am a Jaguar club member and take it to shows frequently, most have trashed interiors and 99% have yellowed wood. If you want to research this further, you can look up hydraulic top hoses (this car has the upgraded kit) and Nikisil engine liners (this car has a later machined and fully rebuilt engine).

I think it's a great looking car. If I was in a position to do something I would. It's the kind of Jag thats going to go up in value in my opinion. The F Type with a supercharged 5.0 actually makes me swell up a little bit. With a little over 500 HP @ 3000 lb curb weight its very impressive.

I have a friend in England with one of these. He absolutely loves it, But, he has had problems finding parts for it over there. I have purchased and shipped parts to him that were only available here. I recently sent him fog lamp guards/ covers. The box they were in appeared to be as old as the car.

He helps me with diesel Land Rover parts as well as Triumph parts… oddly he has better access to Triumph parts than Jag parts.

I really like the car but I don’t think i have a Land Rover of close to equal value to trade.

Even the 400hp XKRs are scary fast, it's hard not to cruise at 100+. I'd describe this car as a GT car, plenty fast compared to my Disco. :D

I'd love an offer, even if it means 2 trucks + some cash from me. And exactly, it's been a pain hunting down nice new old stock parts.

If you were closer I would say come take a look at couple of my D1s.

Let me know, not sure where you're located but could work something out if you're interested. I'll probably hold on to it for a while waiting for a trade so no rush. I think I saw you post a D1 fender in a FB group today?

Yep, that was me. Don’t wait for me, Frankly, while I do have some nice D1s, all but the one I do not want to sell are in need of some kind of attention and I have had to put working on them on the back burner for while. I am in southeastern New Mexico. That is a good haul from Georgia.

I can tell you about what a shitshow it is to get those hoses up to the header latch. I just did a set last month
