Looking forward to the responses to this post. Unleash the hounds of discoweb.

My favorite part?

"Only known flaw, the front sunroof doesn't work. "

Other than the heads, you mean?

Hi, yes stated very clear, heads blown, so other than the obvious , the only known issue is the front sunroof, so this truck in great shape otherwise is only worth $1,000 ? The wheels, parts , transmission are worth more than that.

Yes, it is only worth around a grand. I know this as I buy them all the time. I paid 900 for a 99 d2 with a bad motor last month. Yours has a rack so I went 1200

Yes...what everyone is trying to tell you is that with blown head gaskets it's probably worth more as parts. Read up on the various thread on this site about overheated motors...there is a pretty good chance this thing has a cracked block or slipped liner too. It was only (maybe) worth $4k with a good engine in it and with complete service records.

Hi , thanks for your honest/courteous response. I may just pick up an engine drop it in and go from there.

There's an idea. I have several of them. Give me a call if you are interested.

It takes time, bloodied knuckles, and fair bit of cursing to get it back on the road. That's expensive even if you do it yourself and don't forget the towing bill.

It's also an opportunity cost. What else could you be doing with your time? Why not spend a bit more and get a Disco in running condition? They're easy to find. There's really only so much of a market for dead discos and it's flooded, hence the prices.

If you want to sell it for parts... it's still only worth so much. The buyer is going to have to spend days and hours pulling it apart. Then they have to pay someone to tow the carcass away. Expensive.

True, it's worth more than $1200 as parts.

But someone has to break down the truck; that takes time.

They have to sell the parts; that takes time.

They have to ship the parts; that takes time.

They have to deal with dumbass customers; that takes time.

All together, Marty's $1200 offer is fair.

Or buy a motor and put it in.

That truck with a good motor is barely worth $4k.

Part it yourself, ot take the 1200.00 offer, but I would go 1210.00 with the rack if you deliver to 21158. Reality sucks sometimes! Hey wheres the crying smiley?

none of your fucking business
I know this truck, it spent some time in Greenville while a college kid was trying to diagnose the overheating issue. I tried a few times to buy the rack off of him and diagnose the issue in the mean time. Didn't have any time before I moved out of town. Is this the same kid or did he finally find a sucker to pay his asking price? BTW, if it is the same truck...it's trashed.
