So it goes into reverse fine/ park and holds fine and 1st gear fine. Even pulls in 1st fine. the kicker is drive and 2nd acts like neutral. No noises.....none. Going to check fluid when i get home i know thats a go too. So look at color and smell. Going to check the linkages and flush it last effort. Sounds like the clutch pack or a pressure issue..........

Anyone else experienced this?

Transmission will throw a code when it is a fluid problem (as in, low pressure) because the torque converter won't operate properly. If yours works in one gear and not in the others then it may be the gear selector or selector wiring. It's not a mechanical connection even if it feels like one.
